To this day I've never spent as much time in an online multiplayer situation like that game. It's what got me into PC gaming full time, too.

Here's another one. Same excuse for this or something else?
Some people thrive on justifying their purchase(s), I bought MOHW because I've been a fan of the franchise and make no bones about it when I say the game blows chunks. In my heart of hearts
I knew the game was going to be a disappointment, I even had a pending ticket open with EA to cancel my preorder, all I needed to do was get back in touch with them....oh well, so much for that.
EA knew the game was going to be a disaster, hence the 50% discount to BF3 premium players and the day 1 review embargo. I'm sure all their analysts and accountants had it figured out that they
could recoup a majority of the development and marketing costs by implementing these tactics...and it probably worked.
Pretty sad when reviewers are actually critical of the game to the degree they are. Normally game reviews are much nicer and forgiving than they should be. This tells me the game is pretty much shit.
MP is an unplayable mess right now IMO. FOV is locked to 70. You can change it to whatever you want but that only effects the FOV while you are sprinting. Once you stop sprinting it goes back to default 70. The amount of screen shake is also RIDICULOUS. It's hard to play for more than 10 minutes. It gives me a headache. There is also massive rubberbanding on 4 out of 5 servers I join, no matter how low the ping is. The guns feel clunky and unresponsive, and it takes way too many hits to kill someone for the type of shooter this is supposed to be. The UI is also a cluttered mess that's unintuitive and very hard to navigate.
Maybe I'll try the SP this weekend if I have free time, but right now I'm staying away from MP until shit gets fixed/adjusted. Even at $30 I feel ripped off. The MP right now is actually worse than MOH 2010. Never thought I'd be saying that.
I dont mind the game 1 bit, It was totally worth the 29.99 I paid for it lol.
My only issue is the massive bugs in MP. Everytime I go to select a weapon or class, I crash, and have to alt-ctrl-del to close out to the game. If I just spawn, and I can play no problem.
Is it worth 59.99? O hell no, not even close, but its a nice lil FPS to tide me over for now I guess.
Graphics wise....it seems ok, but to me, its not up to BF3 graphics standards.
they need to up the bullet damage on immersive ffs too
yea doesnt seem all that immersive IMO lol.
Wish i could try out other guns though.....getting sick of only being able to use one since I cant even choose a different gun/class/team, Crashes everytime
the unlock system is weird too. i feel like theres too many classes almost. like i unlocked a grenade launcher.. i have no idea who uses that or how to equip it

OOO I did see the thingy pop up for me to hit the Z button (I remapped alot of shit) to use it.
Of course I point blank hit someone with it, and didnt kill him...laughs

Allied I believe was made by many of the devs that went on to form Infinity Ward who then made COD. No wonder you loved it because COD 1 was great too.
so was COD 2 and many after..
COD didnt fall off until black ops. some would argue world at war was terrible but i didnt mind it too much i thought it was okay
i wasnt really annoyed until i bought black ops. fucking terrible.

I liked Call of Duty 1 and 2. Call of Duty 3 I skipped because it was console only. I heard it was shit anyway. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is the pinnacle of the series in my opinion. The single player campaign was fun even with the retarded story but it was down right grounded in reality compared to the stories in later games. I skipped Call of Duty World at War because it was a WWII shooter. I got sick of those some time ago. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 had an even more ridiculous single player campaign but it was fairly entertaining. The multiplayer is where that one fell apart. Low player limits for matches, small maps etc.
Call of Duty Black Ops went the right direction. I felt single player had a less ridiculous story than the previous couple of games but wasn't as polished as the Infinity Ward titles were. Multiplayer was better but the maps weren't all that great and worst of all it was buggy as hell. After the let down that was Black Ops I didn't go any further with the series. I'd just be buying the same game again anyway since they've done nothing to innovate. And as I understand it post-Black Ops games like Modern Warfare 3 made it so you couldn't do ranked games through dedicated servers which is total shit. I'm not supporting that with my money.
It just gets me how each game takes such a step back when the Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare formula for multiplayer worked so well.
call of duty 4 modern warfare was AMAAAZING i agree.
it was the 2nd one that had the terrible gun balance right? with the dual shotguns or whatever? hah
they need a much better way to track unlocks. the menu system is convoluted. i guarantee everyone who's playing has shit unlocked they had no idea was available to them.

This game could be better but...
eurogamer gamer mw3 review - 8/10
destructoid mw3 review - 9.5/10 ( <-- LOL really? )
I fixed my game crashing from not using battlelog. I join servers from the ingame server browser, and im able to change everything, Played 2 hours no crashes, and changed guns etc.
snip*
I just want to say thanks for this tip. This works for me. I was crashing almost every time a round ends.
Still thinking about getting it. Do premium bf3 players still get 50 percent off?
Yes, I think the offer is good into the middle of November, but in my opinion it's just not worth it for the SP or MP. The SP is all too familiar and the MP comes across very juvenile, i.e....slow-motion killcam,
stupid closeup of fireteam winners slapping high-fives and chest-bumping, terrible FOV & VOIP implementation. I know the 50% off is enticing, and that's what EA is banking on, I would save your $30 and put it towards something else.
For half price it's ok I suppose

They had the Frostbite 2.0 engine and there aren't any destructible environments in multiplayer (I can't shoot through wood/thin fences either). That's like gathering the materials required to make chinese porcelain and then making a toilet instead.
