Does the AOC-SASLP-MV8 (first model) work with 4TB drives? if not is there something similar that works with WHS v1?

WHSv1 does not work with any drives larger than 2TB unless you do some serious hacking.

Ahhh, well I could stick with 2TB drives. I am using a Norco 4020 so I have the room.

guhhhhhhhh

This.

I tried to get my WHSv1 to work with larger drives and I regret it immensely. Nothing worked right and I had to wipe out the entire install. Ultimately for me it came down to WHSv1 and motherboard firmware not playing nice together once I started hacking things. There are good guides out there on how to do it, but it is certainly nothing easy to do. I would recommend just keeping it simple and sticking to 2TB drives.

Dump WHS and get a different OS that supports it and does the same thing as WHS. Check out the threads on ZFS and you'll be amazed.

I've had nothing but issues with that card, its sitting on the shelf right now. Using LSI cards in IT mode removed all my blue-screen woes.

This is in a Server 2008 R2 x86 setup on an atom board with max 2gb memory, with Flexraid.

And I don't believe it supports bigger than 2TB drives. There is a second version of the card that DOES with firmware updates. Dunno if you have V1 or V2

AOC-SASLP-MV8 does support 3TB+ with firmware update. It's what I am currently using.
