Battlefield 3 General Discussion Thread

Oh, OK. I was mistaken. Maybe I was confused with the weapon skins, or maybe I just plain had no idea what I was talking about -- I find that happens more and more as I get older :p
 
Dirty fuckin French hackers....I just received emails today, in French, of failed transactions in Origin of FIFA13, Crysis, and BF3 cause I failed to supply a payment for the purchases within three days of ordering...dirty French hackin' bastards...

DO NOT PASS GO! DO NOT COLLECT FREE GAMES!
 
Since the last time I played this game I got a new soundcard, the xonar DGX. Also since last playing a patch was released. Played some today and my fps was fucking SHIT. From a smooth ~60 to a choppy 30-70. Reduced video settings and no change. Doubt the soundcard would make it worse lol but never know about battlefield 3..:rolleyes:

Anybody know whats going on?

Also got a new mouse and installed the Razor config software. Other games are fine.

Must have been a new patch, I remember that for some reason the game performed better at launch than it did after a couple of patches. :p

They speak french in other countries. Not trying to start a flame war so I won't guess which one it originated from but CANADA!!! cough cough.

I kid of course. Canada is one of the friendliest countries on earth. Which is why they are fun to fuck with.

I remember reading a while back BF3 had issues with certain sound chips. I don't know if it was Asus/cmedia and/or realtek or just realtek. Lol one of the few times my X-Fi didn't cause any issues!

Finally got the chance to get down and dirty with the multiplayer. I have to say it's really good. My only criticism is it's so good that it reminds me of COD in a lot of ways.
 
There NEEDS to be a WWII version of this game on this engine. Hands down. That would be deliciously epic.
 
So is Close Quarters pretty much dead? I want armored kill but I'm debating whether I should get Premium or not. I already have Karkand, so if Close Quarters is not played much I can't justify Premium.

I was in the same boat where I had the B2K DLC but not the CQ pack. I ended up passing up the Premium and purchased the Armored Kill expansion. It really came down to me realizing that I probably wasn't going to have that much fun playing the CQ maps anyway since the run and gun COD style isn't really my thing.
 
right now im wishing they would fix C4, if your parachutte down and toss it out it falls so slow its pathetic like its a piece of paper. that or if in a chopper it sticks to imaginary parts that are invisible. Really kills C4 in terms of extra tactical uses.

that and the invisible walls on the houses in bandar desert where if you try to shoot through the iron railings bullets dont pass through they just bounce off highly annoying as of late just how many bugs and issues make it past QA
 
I bought premium because it was a good deal. 60 bucks for the game plus all the expansion packs. I think it was worth it.

I am not on the ball tonight...:(

I remember reading about it in the patch notes, made that post, then realize I had never done it myself. Did more research, and apparently I got that from the leaked patch notes that ended up being partially right.

My bad. I go drink more beer now....
 
I already had B2K and not interested in CQ so I figured on buying AK for $15 and will see how the other expansions look before deciding.

AK has been pretty amazing so far. I love large scale vehicle combat.

I love Death Valley... friggin love that map, alborz and bandar are good too... I HATE Armored Shield... Just a big open valley of vehicle whoring and infantry rape. Terrible.
 
Anyone having issues getting into games now? When i try and join a server after a few seconds the joining game box that pops up just vanishes, tried numerous times on different servers and same thing every time. Done the pb update no change.. :confused:

No error messages, just the joining server thing disappears.

I get it a lot too. I just close bf3.exe in task manager and try again. Usually works
