Need to get my work to buy one of these.
Wish I could cancel my puny 12 disk MD1200 shelves on order.

Looks interesting however I suspect it would cost a lot more than I am willing to pay for a case (even at work when it is not my money)..

Very cool. I do wonder how they dampen vibrations in that thing. Have seen quite a few issues when this is not done even on less dense configurations.

MD3260
105.23kg(232 lbs.) (maximum configuration)

LOL. And I thought racking the sun fire X4500 (thumper) file-servers were a PITA (82 kg). It had 45 disks in 4u.

We just racked up some HP DL980G7's, which tip the scales at just over 200 pounds a piece.

There is another company that sells a storage server very similar to Sun X4500 Thumper, but it holds 60 disks instead. Dont remember the name of the company.

Looks similar to the Facebook open datacenter storage stuff (search for 'Facebook magic hinge').

Its impressive !
What is funny- 10 years forward and people will laugh at such dinosaurs-theirs thumb drives will holds more data :)
