For those with deep pockets:

http://www.murderbox.com/mkii/order/

$1200 + S/H

To place an order, a 50% deposit is required with the balance payable when the MKII and optional add-on parts have been manufactured.
The MKII case and optional add-on parts are pre-order products that will be manufactured after the ordering phase has concluded.
The ordering phase will last until October 15, 2012, or when we reach our target number of 499 MKII cases sold; whichever comes first.
Orders can be cancelled with deposits fully refunded throughout the ordering phase and up until production begins.
The manufacturing phase for the MKII cases and optional add-on parts will take 12–14 weeks.
Once completed, Customers will be contacted to arrange the balance of payment, plus shipping costs.
Shipping the MKII cases and add-on parts will take 4-6 weeks, depending on the Customer's location.
The MKII cases and optional add-on parts will be delivered to Customers in February, 2013.

Might be ice cold for guys like me but it's probably smoking hot for some. Collectors item for sure.

Edit: Mods please move this to case discussion or wherever it may see fit. Lots of arguing going on.

Gosh I wish I had the money for this right now. Hard to justify 1200 for a case though. If any case deserves that kind of coin it would be this one though.

Im sure some [H]ard memeber will have one or two though :)

The more I look at it the more I want it. A 690 is $999 and will be outdated in a year or two, but this case will probably last me a lifetime.

Ugh...

Plus only 499 will be made...

If I was a Forbes man I would be all over this. And many sports cars as well..

For the money I'd get something else. Having a pimped out Silverstone is nice, but for half the money I'd get a Case Labs or a Mountain Mods.

I like their cases, but to pay half up front for a case that will be available in 6 months, assuming all goes well, eh, not for me. Obviously they will sell them, just not to me.

That sure is a pricey case but cases last a long time. I'm still rocking the same case from a 2000 server build.

Big question is can the MKII hold an E-ATX board or other super large board like a Asus Z9PE-D8 or EVGA SR-2/X?

I was hoping for an annoucement on individual parts when I saw the email but nothing of that yet. I haven't looked around to see if that was still Charles's plan. I know at one time he did say it was though.

Guys, a product being available does not make it a hot deal. This is certainly not such. I vote for thread deletion.

Or merging it with the thread in GenMay...I have to admit Buzzer's comment on the case shipping full with a load of blow inside would certainly enliven the commentary.

It amazes me that they want $1200 for , and then they have options. No for $1200 you should be throwing all the options in the box.

Illuminated Luminous Panel

No shit. Can you get non-illuminated luminous panels?

Way to rich for my blood. You can build a decent complete tower with LCD for that $$$

i also noticed they have add-ons...that they charge for.

you're already stupid enough to fork out $1200 for a case, might as well reel the suckers in for a few more nickles and dimes.

The case is 1200 alone. Then you add in all the options it brings the case up to 1675 + S/H. You essentially your spending 1700-1800 if you want it decked out.

The case is nice but the price is insane

WTF. Not a hot deal. Not for anybody.
Move this thread.

Lame thread OP. Choose the right forum next time.

"nice case, what's the name of it?"
"the murderbox."
"....seriously?"

It's only got 7 PCI slots. It would last you until you wanted to do tri/quad SLI. :p

If you are going to drop anywhere near that kind of coin you are better off finding a machine shop and having them custom fabricate a case to your exact design standards. You potentially lose some connectivity, but if you are going to shell out this kind of money for a case there better not be a single thing you would do differently. And having 1 of 499 is an argument against spending that kind of dough. If I'm dropping this kind of coin I want my case to be 1 of 1.

I don't understand this business model. Make 50 of them...put them up on ebay for $999, see if they sell and make more. There's no way i'd have $600 of my money tied up waiting for pre-orders and manufacture and shipping for god knows how long. Make units you can buy right away first. If they actually get enough pre-orders, i'll be shocked.

Yes, it looks pretty good.

But I would rather take $1,200 and build my own box. Or just buy a Moutain Mods/Case Labs and have a sick WC Loop Like i've always wanted

I thought this was [H]ardOCP? Why are all these [F]rugalOCP people commenting?

It's a damn nice case for sure, but I'm not baller enough to afford such a case.

Its all part of the premium feel, you get to say all kinds of stuff to WOW your friends.

ONLY 499 were EVER made.
I was FORCED to agonize in line for 6 MONTHs to get this incredibly hot product.

Continue repeating the rest of apple like advertising speak used throughout the website.

Obviously a bunch of people who've never priced out something like this. Just building the new unibody alone would be over $1000 for an individual to do it. Add in the three custom PCB's (which realistically you couldn't build just one of)... Now add in all the other custom parts and it actually isn't a bad price.

I just wish they had gone ahead and designed a new case rather than continuing to use the TJ07.

I would so get one. Just ordered. Got the number #007. Ha suckas. But in reality, I seen some other pics, thats a kick ass water cooled rig. Everything all spaced out at the right everything.

If they sell all 499 @ base price...that's a pile o money for them. $598,800. Very doubtful they will sell anywhere near the 499. It is a sweet case..AND they got the name right. Murderbox...as in..you buy this box...and your WIFE will MURDER you. LOL

It's not the price that has me bewildered. It's what you get for it.
You can get a nice server rack, and chassis to fill it for that kind of money.
