Whatever you do dont buy an Asrock motherboard

Why?
http://www.asrock.com/support/index.asp?cat=RMA
their supposed "3 year" warranty and will only honor it through a retailer as an intermediary, and only for 1 year at that.

hmmm newegg, mc, td only do rma's for 30 days... wow might as well buy a refurb

I really hope that I am reading it wrong, and the story I heard of them not giving warranty service was a lie...

Thanks hoping I was wrong! It still isnt exactly clear they leave it up in the air saying to find out warranty status email us... it should say 3 year warranty for motherboards from either purchase date or serial #.

Ehh I've seen enough people post their RMA experiences with most brands. Asrock is horrible with communication, but very fast with RMA turnaround (2-3 days of service time) if I remember correctly. I just think this thread is kind of funny, because it's called "Do Not Buy ASROCK" (rofl) and its not like doing an RMA through Asus, Gigiabyte, etc., would be some sort of walk in the park.

I was expecting OP to have first hand experience of Asrock's RMA process and more details regarding his situation but this is obviously not the case.

Can someone change the thread title please? "DO NOT BUY ASROCK" sure is one way to get people to read this thread...

I bought an i/o shield from asrock for an open box mobo I got off of newegg. It was kind of wierd I had to mail them a check, you can't order it online. But I had the i/o shield in less than a week from when I mailed the check.

Can't speak to ASRock's return policy as none of the boards I've owned or used from them ever crapped out. I'd buy another one.

You posted that title in the hopes that someone would correct you?

My Z68PRO3-M is chugging along trouble free for about a year now as an htpc in the living room and Z77 Extreme4-M rock solid no problem as my gaming pc. Besides the stability I was impressed with the uefi makeover when they added IB support to my Z68 board and they've added a couple other small features via bios update since then.

Hmm...

"If experiencing difficulties in warranty service through your dealer or place of purchase, ASRock will attempt to resolve this issue."

+1.

Mine have all ran great. I even bought 2 more Asrock MB's to upgrade the kids comps.

Loving my z77 extreme4. I am pretty fond of asrock since they released the extreme7 gen3, very good looking and competitive boards. No problems to speak of, if I had money to blow, I would have an extreme9!

After my bad experiences with Asrock, during its introductory days... I never think of building a rig with asrock. I would like to give benefit of the doubt for the supplier. It may be the supplier that gave me faulty boards.

Useless alarmist attention gathering thread with 0 logic on OP behalf and a mediocre attempt at researching. Close ASAP.

Also, my two Asrock boards have run flawlessly and my dealings with their support has been great. If this thread remains open, I'd like to see everyone pile drive this OP into oblivion and hope he never makes such a fail boat again, at least for us to not see.

This is what we get for paying less for Asrock, next time I'm goin with Asus.

Have fun with Asus support. There's many more horror stories with Asus RMA than Asrock. But it may be due to higher volumes of boards sold as well.

I don't care what [H] says about how great Asus is. I've seen too many horror stories with their customer service.
I'll buy MSI or Gigabyte before Asus.

*shrugs* I've had my ASRock 880G Extreme 3 since 2010 and it's running like a champ. I flashed it to 890GX Extreme 3 without a hitch and updated the BIOS to support AMD's FX series stuff without any issues. I unlocked and overclocked the holy hell out of my old Phenom II X3 720 using this board, and I've had the RAM overclocked and timings tightened nicely since day one without any problems whatsoever. Currently have an FX-8150 installed running at an nice 4.0GHz on this motherboard.

ASRock has literally given me the single best experience I've ever had with a ~$100 motherboard. I don't see myself replacing this with anything else for another couple of years at least.

For what it's worth I've never had an issue with ASRock support. I do think ASUS makes a better product for the price more often than not, but their support is terrible. When I buy an ASUS product I buy it with the expectation of getting the shaft if something were to go wrong. If the z77 m-atx ASRock board would have had as good aesthetics and features as the ASUS MVG I would have bought it in a heart beat.

I have two Asrock motherboard (P67 Pro3 and Z77 Pro3) running in two computers and they have been rock solid. I don't know anything about their service but their motherboards work well for me. More than I can say for Asus.

My Z77E-ITX is running rock solid.

Same, that fact that admins of this site are not running ASrocks in their personal computers doesn't mean the brand is not quality and should be avoided, including this pointless thread where OP didn't even read up on their site about subject of this thread and still had urge to blame the company.
