I have one invite available. First person to post gets it. Send me a pm with your email afterwards.

If anyone has 1-2 spare beta invites, I would be glad to take them. :D My friend and I have been waiting for this game, but we both have not gotten any beta invites. :(

Tried it out today for the first time. Game seems like it has potential, but was not impressed with the lack of helping you to get started. took me a while to figure out how to do basic thing like item usage. While I'm not for hand holding in games I do appreciate a pop up in the early levels letting me know what does what. especially when I need to blow something up for a mission the 1st time. Hopefully that will be fixed up before release time.

anyone that makes an mmo at this point has balls; especially after the money put that is swtor

Early impressions are mixed, it looks quite nice and feels odd to be shooting stuff in what is essentially an MMO, I seriously need to test it more and get used to everything. Certainly not on my radar as something to leap in to but being F2P it might garner some interest in the same way LoL does, which gets played about once a month for a bit of a faff around.

I'm super-interested in this one and Wildstar. Been waiting for a steampunk MMO for a while now.

I have been playing this beta for a while now and I also feel that there isn't much direction to the game. The quests feel tacked on, and unnecessary. It's something I am sure they will improve though.

As for the gameplay and combat. I really, really like the feel of the combat in this game. It is so smooth and responsive. I was jetpacking around and shooting bugs in no-time. It just feels great, even better than a lot of SP shooters.

Between this and Planetside 2, things are looking good on the MMOFPS/RPG front.

PS2 will probably eclipse this game. FF is fun but it's getting old already, I know it's beta but I wish they'd outline just how big they're planning to go with it.

From my reading it seems that Firefall is counting on dynamic events and staged content to keep it's player base. When you pve your contribution will be added to to everyone else. When the community does enough they can push the melding back and unveil new zones and cities.

Then there will be dynamic events, A.I. enemies will come and try to take over the territory you've unlocked. Sounds a little like the Guild Wars 2 system but with more permanence.

Everyone playing this right now really needs to keep in mind that the game is in a true beta state still. They've already said they will be creating a better tutorial to walk people through the basics of the game, but it's probably a ways off.

With that said, I've had so many technical issues with the game so far that I'm just going to let them work out more of the kinks before I even try investing anymore time in it. I'd rather enjoy the game when it's more ironed out and wrinkle free than keep beating my head against a wall just to be the 134th person to report the same old bug.

sry for the necro, I heard some invites were passed out recently? Anyone got one to spare?

I was very interested in this when I first signed up for the forums/beta a year ago. Now, not so much.

Humm, this game is starting to look better and better the closer it gets to release. I seen that the digital items that come with the"packages" that you can buy will become available to use Sept. 24th so i'm guessing that the game will be released sometime next month?

I got into the beta this pass weekend and the mechanics of the game seem to be on the right path think Tribes + TF2 = mechanics wise but it is not an MMO in sense that people are use too there no items anymore and they have a what they call a horizontal level system now. When you pick your class you get the starting armor for your class as you gain experience you have 3 tech trees/specs you have to unlock upgrades for your armor, weapons, and special abilities. Upon reach the end of 2 tech trees you will unlock the next tier in armor and you start 0 experience again for that armor and have to level up 2 tech trees again to reach the next of gear tier.

Upon reaching Tier 2 you are now able to craft certain upgrades of abilities and weapon you unlock along the tech trees. That is where the resource gathering of game kicks in as different crystals you collect have different attributes that are better than other for certain items and give you different bonuses compared to the normal ones you just unlock. The resource gathering and crafting system is very in depth in the sense that all resources have quality ratings from each other. So you might find a node of Bismuth to gather with the thumper but the quality might be low with a rating of lets say 140 but you might find another node that has some at a rating of 540 which is of higher quality and thus items you craft with that version would be better. They also have a whole blending system that lets you combine different resources to come up certain hybrid elements. I have not really tried that yet but you have good combinations and bad ones so you have to be careful what you mix to get hybrid you actually want.

Well thats pretty much the game so far as of right now there are minimal quest in the game and basically all you can do is pvp in deathmatch and few objective based maps or just grind experience and resource collecting in open world area. The game only has tier 2 armors available right now so once you are done getting your tier 2 maxed out there is nothing much else to do.

Interesting. I found this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgFcEW5nyGI&feature=youtu.be on Firefall which may explain some of what you are talking about. Of course the game is still in beta so the limited content is understandable. It sounds very interesting on how they plan on "releasing" new content.

I was super interested too (since the Huxley hype from back in 05 I think?)...

I got into the beta a few days ago and was fairly overwhelmed by the experience. I know it is an early beta, so I won't write off the game now...

It's not bad any means...it's just kinda meh IMO...

For those that are interested in Firefall, just let me know and I can send several invites! ; in addition, since its the PAX weekend the Founders packages are at a significant discount!
