Steam 2012 Summer Sale 7/12-22!

Someone wanted Unreal for sale, it's an unlisted Flash sale, 10 bucks for all games.

No wait, there it is. But still, it's on sale.

Test Drive Unlimited is one of the worst "games" I have ever played. Game looks absolutely fabulous but the driving controls are abysmal. There is no hope for the controls and 99% of a driving game is the controls as you have to do important things like... drive?

Driver San Francisco is fun and they got rid of the always on DRM. Some people complain that the story is too far fetched but I didn't mind it. The driving is great and the game looks fine. If you want to play online you need to sign into your UPlay account so that it can track your achievements, wins, losses, accumulated UPlay points that you redeem for swag in the game. Offline mode is available after you have registered the game.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is the safe vote as you know what you're getting.

Hope that helps someone!

grabbed three copies for some friends :D I actually enjoyed UT3, but 2k4 is my favorite. Luckily they're in a package :)

Im a little dissapointed, I have seen Just Cause 2 for $2.50 numerous times before. If it was $2.50 i would have bit but as it is now I already bought more games then I have time to play so I guess ill wait for the next sale.

Even at $3.74 it's an insanely good value.

Just bought DEFCOM, reminded me of a game I used to play as a kid. Hopefully its fun.

Why do people constantly whine when deals aren't specifically tailored to what they want?

Are the UT games still widely played online? I've seen some UT2k4 servers fill-up from time to time, but what about the others? I loved the UT series way back and was thinking about picking up the package in the Flash Deals.

The last time I played UT3 it wasn't completely dead but that was a couple years ago during a sale or a free weekend or something like that.

I couldn't stand TDU 2. Hot Pursuit was so-so. I'm hoping Driver SF wins since I haven't played it but want to.

Oh I totally agree with you there, its just not the price i was looking for to make me pull the trigger right now. WIth the games I already got from this sale plus others ive got from other sales I wont be playing it anytime soon anyway so im fine with waiting until the next time its on sale. If it wasnt for the fact that i have to many games to play already I would be all over this at $3.74.

It didn't but it's an interesting game. The story is kind of dumb, but the real San Fran and licensed cars are pretty cool for a few hours of toying around.

Seriously. Almost every single flash deal I've seen show up in the daily if not once, but multiple times. Now, Anno being 50% at best is something to be upset about.

You're made because you didn't get the deal you wanted? Chill the fuck out.

No I'm made because I'm the Don's nephew! I'm mad because actually I did want Driver I've heard good things. I'm kinda surprised has anyone noticed it's mostly stuff no one wants thats winning. BGE lost Kratos lost, and now Driver, kinda weird? Seems like another unexpected one lost too though most of the community deals have been ones I already have.

They'll all be daily deals at some point. Valve already got the pricing.

Torchlight won, others that people have hoped for in here have won, relax, it'll be a daily anyway and you'll have a much longer window to grab it. They wouldn't negotiate a deal to maybe run it if people vote, and maybe not.

The voters as a whole are dumb/ignorant at times, yes, what a shocker. At least one community deal ended up being cheaper as a daily deal as well, so you might even be better off. (although I think that was an error and early buyers just got screwed, but still...)

Picked up Hot Pursuit. The demo was fun.

Re: complaints about voting deals...Most of these titles, whether they got the vote or not, have been these prices before more than once. If you didn't pay attention to the other half-dozen or so deals before on these games, that's your problem. Steam doesn't owe you anything. In that same vein, it is a bit confusing when people vote for a title that has been the same price a dozen times before...

Plus, like people have said, they will more than likely end up on a Daily Deal or a Flash Deal anyway. Just be patient.

Meh, I'm not getting too worked up about Driver since I know they'll all go on sale eventually and I have plenty to play in the meantime. I'd like to pick up Driver on the cheap, but realistically...will I really play it before I get around to the 200+ that I haven't played yet? ;)

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm actually kinda irked that the Thief games haven't gone on sale. I acquried T3: DS in a pack and have the physical copy of T1 somewhere, but I've never played T2:TMA and would like to add T1 & 2 to Steam and complete the digital collection. I noticed they're finally on GoG too. Guess I'll pick them up wherever they go on sale first.

I'd buy the Thief series if they made a pack for $10 or less (preferably less). They've put older stuff on sale this summer. Hell there's a Jedi Knight series pack I might grab even if it doesn't make a daily sale, I've only played one of them and always wanted to play the others.

I'd still check out the games that lost in case they're still like 50%+ off. Driver isn't, but it is 33% off.

At this point, I've noticed a game I bought at one point in the sale at 66% off was then 75% off later. Now it's a game of ... should I buy now or wait to see if it's even MORE discounted??

Usually it's best not to buy it within the first hour, they do price adjustments to account for r-tards at the console.

Sometimes it'll be lower then it's supposed to be, but you need to be on the ball knowing what prices are to catch them.

Thief Collection for <$10 I can definitely see happening at some point. I'm 99% sure T3 has been $4.99 before, and I can see the first two being slashed to $2.49 since they're only $5.99/ea. currently. If they ever run the Thief Collection for 50-75% off, anyone who enjoys stealth games that hasn't played these would need to be committed to an insane asylum if they didn't pick that up.

Such awesome games...I played the first one so many times and I actually had a lot of fun with DS which wasn't as well received as the first two.

Case in point, Assassin's Creed pack went from $50 to $45 for the community sale, then it was $45 for the first few hours of the daily sale before dropping to $35. Curse you Steam, and curse your non existent support, that's the type of scenario that would be fixed at Amazon with a five minute call.

Not buying anything that isnt 75% off

T3 is not something i recommend buying because theres not really anyone to play with its MP only really.

Binding of Isaac any good? I'm reading that it's next to impossible with the DLC.

Yes it's very fun with addicting gameplay. Don't expect a story or any type of progression, it is meant to see how long you last. Each time you play, the dungeon, item drops and enemies are different, very fun game.

The Thief series was great. Now they need to remake the games in HD like Serious Sam. I'd be happy to give them all another play through if that happened. It's hard to play older games in 2012 when we've been spoiled by great graphics for so long.
