Lawsuits? How can that be? RIM's new CEO just told us everything is okey-dokey and there was nothing wrong with the company a week ago. :D

As part of a public relations offensive, speaking with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, he forecast a sunny future for Research in Motion by saying, “There’s nothing wrong with the company as it exists right now” and denying that RIM was, as some investors believe, in a death spiral.

I like the overblown title you got there. I never thought a 2 month OS delay would lead to articles with the word "Lawsuit" in the title.

Could it be because it's the title from the NYT article he linked to? Nah it couldn't be.

QNX is over 2 years late, not two months. Also, RIM's implementation of QNX on the Playbook sucks hard. Literally 10-20 minute cold boot times. The investors have every right to sue over RIMs incompetence.

I'm going to go a head and assume you either don't own a Playbook or owned something like the first OS interation.

I DO own a Playbook and not only does it about 2 minutes to boot but its also the fastest and most stable OS I've ever used, especially on a mobile platform.

If RIM can get it right QNX is the next big thing in the phone market. Very fast, very stable, very secure, and VERY easy and intuitive to use.

Come on RIM! I've got my fingers crossed for you. Just remember, MARKET THE DAMN THING!

Ok, I used to be a die hard crackberry user and I gotta call shenanigans on this.

1) Sub 2 minute boot, yes this is accurate. After the initial iteration it got cleaned up pretty quickly.
2) Fastest and most stable OS? you haven't used many OS's according to that statement. It is decently fast but frankly is nothing to write home about.
3) There is nothing very fast, very stable and very intuitive about BBOS or QNX. That actually is what is killing them. Their OS for anyone outside the die hard BB elite refuse to use anything else is horribly unintuitive.

If RIM isn't willing to scrap basically everything and produce a phone and mobile OS that doesn't suck on about every conceivable level, then frankly I hope the door hits them in the ass on the way out of the market. I love competition but they haven't been competitive in years and frankly are just a complete waste.

The next best thing? Um, literally any modern OS like Windows 8 and iOS is "fast stable secure and very easy to use".

QNX is worthless on arrival - no device or software support, and no OS superiority.

In case you didnt notice, I was complaining about the NYT header

In that case I assume you've read the article and it explained why the delay can result in lawsuits? Or did you just read the title at NYT too?

Oh so the Playbook and new BB devices = no device support? Using your logic iOS has no hardware support either considering it's only on certain specific devices, right? Stupid.

And OF COURSE software support is slower (saying non-existent is a joke)...do you think iOS and Android had the hundred of thousands of apps they had when they first came out? Its all magic RIGHT?! The Playbook/QNX has plenty of software support...especially games, which I love.

Granted not all the apps are top tier, but believe me when I say that I've used PLENTY of Android/iOS apps that were absolute buggy, slow, and crappy programs too...so there are going to be problems on ALL platforms.

Oh, and in case you didn't know, QNX supports native Android apps...have quite a few installed now, read on my Playbook using Kindle every night.

SIGH...getting so tired of everyones complete ignorance on this matter. STOP hating RIM and EDUCATE yourself if you're going to bash them.
