Thermaltake Vs Corsair Liquid coolers

I don't know if I'm posting in the right section but i need your opinion. I'm about to buy a CPU cooler for y PC but i cant decide between buying a:

Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro(Sold in compusa/tigerdirect for $70)

Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme( $89 Newegg)

Corsair H100 (Found for $80 locally used)

Corsair H80 (Ebay for $70)

Which one's better? I'm cooling an I5 2500k @ 4.7GHz. I don't Want to buy a Custom Loop since i really don't need it and i don't want to spend more than $90. :) Also i found this video that compares the Thermaltake performer and H80, but i dont know if its true since i cant understand anything.

Yes, you're in the right section.

The Thermaltake 2.0 Extreme looks identical to the H100, and I would safely assume similar performance. The difference would be fans used. H100 has fans that spin up to 2500 RPM I believe, while the Thermaltake ones spin up to 2000 RPM.

The 2.0 Pro seems to be similar to the H80, once again, the difference will be in the fans used.

Any of those options will work for your needs. However, make sure the 2.0 Extreme or H100 can actually mount in your case before buying those.

If you have room in your case, I would highly consider getting a high-end air cooler like the NH-D14, as those typically outperform these AIO units.
 
The Thermaltake 2.0 Extreme is made by Asetek (570LX High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler) This unit is a hair thicker than the H100. Although I do not know how it would perform when compared. It looks to be a nice setup and the reviews look good, but I do agree with the suggestion of a high-end air cooler instead.

You can also pickup the 570LX cheaper on the bay than the Thermaltake branded version. It comes without fans but you can add your own.

Tortuaco you in Ohio ? Cause I just saw a H100 for $80 this morning on Columbus Ohio's CL !
 
Unless size is an issue, I'd take the H100 over the H80 anyday.
Keep in mind, the H100 has issues with pump noise that can easily be fixed by lowering the voltage to 12v or lower(see corsair forums).
The fans on the H100 suck, so going to a decent pair of static pressure fans like AP15's makes a world of difference in performance and sound.
My 2600k at 4.5ghz never goes over 35c on load.

Thanks for the fast replies. I don't want to buy an air cooler since they're to big and heavy compared to the AIO's

The one in that video is Thermaltake Water 2.0 Performer.
I just bought it from Tiger Direct and I'm going to install this pretty soon.

Like others have warned you, make sure you measure your case's clearance and what type of fan you want to use.
I originally bought Rosewill Blackhawk and found out that I can only mount:
Thermaltake Water 2.0 Performer --> no changes
-----------" ----------------- Pro --> remove side fan
Corsair H60 or H80 --> no changes

Now I just bought Corsair Obsidian 550D thinking I can upgrade to Water 2.0 Extreme in the future but apparently the inside top clearance only approx 50 mm which means it won't fit because the Water 2.0 Extreme radiator thickness is 38.3mm + 25mm fan = 63.3mm :mad:
 
I would take the H100, although at the end of the day, your fans will be the most important. Noctuas, or the obvious AP-15's in a push/pull setup.
 
I wouldn't buy an AIO water cooler used unless you know the person selling it. Reason being, might be a unit with a loud pump that they are trying to unload rather than deal with RMA.

High end air is massive and heavy, but once installed those are not really issues unless you really need to work inside your case a lot. Also I would not want fans spinning at 2000-2500RPM in my system, that is going to be LOUD.
 
Corsair h100=Sleek look, less bulky but you need space for 2 RADS= 2 120mm fan ports, Degrades over time since it's water...../Some people have problems with their Corsair h100, due to the rattling e.t.c
Noctua NH-D14=Performance doesn't degrade over time like water enclosure unit, Bigger, bulky, UGLY fans

They are both basically the same but I'd recommend the NOCTUA NH-D14 since it's cheaper but that's all on you. Looks vs Performance
 
Fans can be replaced. And stock performance of the Noctua is superior to that of the H100.

AIOs and watercooling in general does not degrade because it's watercooling. It simply fails, usually due to pump failure.
