Given the impending Steam Summer sale, I am wondering what are people interested in getting their frugal hands on...

My top 5 (out of 80+) are:

Witcher 2
Skyrim
Batman: AC
DA: Origins (for a second playthrough. Screw you, Origin)
Space Marine

A pretty action/RPG heavy list I suppose, but I think I have almost all the strategy games I am interested in already.

I can't think of anything that I'm really itching to buy right now so there isn't anything I'm really hoping for. I'd like to see a good deal on Shogun 2 and all of it's DLC but I won't be broken up if they don't. My goal this time is not to spend over $5 on any single title. My backlog is so big that it doesn't matter if I avoid buying some games.

Not much on my radar, I already have a huge backlog. Maybe Saints Row 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur for $10, Trine 2 for $5.

Saints Row collection sale.
Batman AC DLC for cheeeap. (own most of it on PS3 already)

LOL, Today they have Velvet Assassin on sale for $1.69. I still won't buy it.

So much backlog...

Something under $10 might catch my attention, else I just install something I haven't played yet.

Hmm... would probably jump on Legends of Grimrock for 9.99.

Maybe Endless Space pre-order at 25% off.

Anno 2070.

Alan Wake Collectors Edition
Batman AC and AA(will buy the whole combo pack and missing DLC if it goes on sale again)
Bastion
Trine 1 and 2
Saints Row 3
Half-Life complete collection only if it goes on sale for around 60% or more discount.
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition
Sonic Generations
Serious Sam BFE

Unsure if I will purchase all of the games, but those are the ones I am looking into getting if I see them on sale.

Nothing really. Nothing really interests me at the moment and even if it did I'd probably avoid it knowing I already have a massive backlog anyway.

It's funny, reading about Steam sales a few years back it was always like "OMG SO MANY GAMES SO CHEAP!!" and people spending hundreds on sales. Now people are saturated with cheap games they'll never get around to playing so Steam sales are a much more "meh" experience.

Yep. If some "WTF amazing" deal pops up I might go over my $5 limit otherwise meh.

Honestly I'm more interested in their promotions they do, such as they did the winter gift thing. The summer sale has the camp tickets thing with achievements. But Alan Wake, probably Batman AC, we'll see about other games though.

Alan Wake and L.A Noire are two I want to get, but the price must be right. There are some other smaller titles that I am sure will go on sale that I want.

Here's my list of crap I want to see on sale and will be buying if the price is right :p
  • Batman Arkham City
  • Assassin's Creed Revelations
  • Rage
  • Saints Row: The Third
  • The Witcher 2
  • Air Conflicts - Secret Wars
  • Trine 2
  • F.E.A.R 3 (I know its on sale right now but rather get it for 5 :p )
  • Super Street Fighter IV AE (fat chance this hits anywhere below 10 )
  • Sideway
  • Max Payne 3
  • Q.U.B.E.
  • Mortal Kombat Kollection
  • Pineapple Smash Crew
  • The Walking Dead
  • Street Fighter X Tekken
  • Botanicula
  • Sonic 4 Episode II
  • Rayman Origins
  • Hack, Slash, Loot
  • Shoot Many Robots
  • Dustforce

Sticking to the 5.00 dollar rule but will pay up to 10.00 for a few of these (RAGE for example) doubt any of the Capcom games hit under 15.00 . Also looking forward to the indie packs :D:cool:

Nothing, really, TBH. Which is kind of rare but I already have a huge backlog and nothing coming out soon (other than Torchlight II which I already have pre-ordered) that I really want.

Might get RAGE if it's $5 or less.

This. when you've been doing steam sales for 4 years not much you don't have worth having.

DCS A-10C.

Not Steam, but I hope BF3 Premium goes for $25 or so.
Not Steam either, but I hope DCS Black Shark 2 goes for $10 or so for the upgrade.
Not Steam yet again, but I might consider the ArmA 2 BAF and Czech DLC if they are cheap.
Not on Steam (notice a pattern?) but maybe some Rise of Flight aircraft.

Not sure what else I really want. Looking forward to DCS MIG-21 and Flaming Cliffs 3, but those are not yet released and of course won't be on Steam. Also looking forward to ArmA 3. Carrier Command: Gaea Mission looks interesting but I will wait for that to drop whenever that releases.

Deus Ex
Serious Sam 3
Alan Wake
Age of Empires 3
Sonic 4

I'm trying to keep the number of games in check. Bought too many games during last xmas sales that I've yet to play.:p

Looking for Sub $10 deals. Hopefully $5 or less.

Witcher 1
Witcher 2
Batman: AC
Space Marine
Kingdoms of Amalur
Fallout 3 Complete
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition
Alan Wake
Krater
Endless Space
Dead Island
Rage
Dead Space 1&2
Deus Ex HR
King Arthur 1&2
Civilization V DLC
Tropico 4 & DLC
Max Payne 3

KOTOR, Jedi Outcast. Gave away my boxed versions and would like them on steam.

I'm a relative newcomer to the Steam sales, so they are still pretty exciting to me.

For the better part of the last 5 years, I was playing (working?) WoW with only occasional forays into other games (e.g. Rome: TW, CoH, SoaSE etc).

Only last year did I really realize Steam existed. Bought the Bethesda/ID pack of something like 100 games last summer for stupidly cheap. The '11 holiday sale was my first real taste of the madness that are the semi-annual sales, but even then I was caught off guard by how good the deals were.

Now, I am ready and fully prepared to blow some serious cash to fill in my inventory of games to play for the rest of the year. Sure, I already have a big backlog, and it will undoubtedly grow in a few weeks, but I actually like looking at my Steam catalog and seeing so many options for things I can jump into if the mood strikes me.

I typically have no less than 10 games in my current game rotation, and when I can get games for as cheap as I do, I don't have to feel the guilt about dropping one that's lost my interest.

Anyway, obviously, I am probably preaching to the choir, but I have become a total Steam/Valve fanboy in the span of a year, and I am highly anticipating the upcoming sale :).

Nothing. My backlog is gigantic. It could last me for years if I never bought another game. I don't need anything for a good while.

Truthfully, I think Grid is the only game I've played of the 10-12 I bought from the Christmas sale. And I just bought the latest Humble Bundle. Oh, and I'm still subbed to / playing WoW for now. In short, I don't NEED anything.

I'd probably jump on FEAR 3/DXHR for $5, Super Street Fighter IV AE or Space Marine for $10. Maybe.

Fear 3 is $8 right now

Max Payne 3, the reviews are good and I played the first two so if it goes on sale for any meaningful amount I will snatch it up.

Other than that, I am mostly looking forward to unreleased games like Dead Space 3, Crysis 3 and Far Cry 3 if the reviews are good.

I think it might go half off at some point but not lower than that.

Skyrim

Sins of a Solar Empire (I LOVE this game, I love how it can take 8+ hours for a short game vs one opponent.

Crysis

I got an email from Best Buy the other day saying it's like $30 in-store right now I believe.

Was well worth full price for me. At that price people should be beating the doors down and performing magic tricks.

Witcher Series (particularly Witcher 2)
Arkham City
Sonic
Max Payne 3 (may need to wait until another year passes by)
Dead Island
Space Marine
