Not my type of game, but the concept of what this fucker did is the same
Originally DLC wasn't DLC, it was an expansion pack, where you have the whole game initially and you simply add more levels, a further story, etc. Diablo, Neverwinter Nights, hell even the Sims did it to a degree since you got a significant amount of crap and more importantly this was done AFTER the project was finished, it represented a much larger undertaking after the release of the game.
Then DLC came about and this added nothing to the game play experience at all except maybe some cosmetic changes, you get a new gun for preordereing, or a particular character, etc. however often this is done before the game is released, so basically the company spends resources to produce a tiny addition, but then decides they can ala carte you the game by selling you a full priced game then adding options.
Although I guess one should be somewhat happy with Capcom for at least charging you only $20 for a few extra characters, I mean this is the company that came out with Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 2: Championship edition, Street FIghter 2: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo.... which added a few extra characters but they charged you for an entirely new game.
And I'm mother fucking disappointed that the levels of greed that are done by producers nowadays, they obviously put the time in already, they made it work, hell they got so fucking lazy they included it on the disc itself so they don't need to spend money on bandwidth later on. They charge a full price for a game that they intentionally cripple, then charge another $20 to uncripple it later.producer Tomoaki Ayano is disappointed that hackers are already playing with the dozen fighters planned as downloadable content for his game.
