I'm surprised this wasn't posted already, they're pretty heavily discounted and there's no way they're just clearing them out because these things came out like three months ago.

Each of them have a 20% discount w/the code listed and there's an additional $20 MIR available on top of that, both offers are good thru Monday 4/9. I've had good luck w/Corsair rebates in the past, they even forgave me a late one once (wasn't my fault but still, that's usually an auto-deny).

K60 - $109.99 -20% using promo code EMCNFNG232 -$20 MIR

K90 - $129.99 -20% using promo code EMCNFNG232 -$20 MIR

ROBBLE ROBBLE DOME KEYS ETC Yeah, they're not full mechanical. The F keys, Insert/Home/Page block, and macro keys (on the K90) are silicon domes... At $110 and $130 those are pretty valid downsides imo, at these prices I'd live with it. I did in fact order a K90, I was torn between it and the Ducky Shining but the Ducky is $142 and I really like the volume drum on the K90 along w/the Al back plate, and some of the extra fluff etc.

Edit: I think Amazon price matched Newegg's post-discount code price, but I dunno if they're also running a rebate, didn't bother to check.

Edit: DEAD DEAL - I think Corsair is running a 25% discount on their own store right now tho (2nd week of April).

To the mechanical keys on those feel wobbly or are they just as firm as membrane keys? I absolutely hate wobbly feeling keys.

huh.... one of the few people around here who like the lycosa... at this price tempted to try this though.

Haven't tried the Corsairs first hand but most accounts I've read seem to indicate they're pretty solid and very smooth. These have red switches which have no tactile feedback mid-way thru (where the key actuates and your input is registered), they're very easy or soft to press.

The sound they make when you bottom out might be louder or slightly different than other mechanicals due to the open casing and the aluminum backplate, pretty sure there's several Youtube videos you can check out if you're really curious about it.

If I hate mine I'll probably sell it or keep it as backup and I'll try out a Ducky Shining, couldn't really resist at those prices tho. I had it on my wishlist and I got an e-mail from Newegg letting me know about the discount and everything. :p

It's dissapointing when they put a mechanical keyboard purely on USB. I prefer the rosewill mechicals as they allowed me to be on PS/2.

What could you possibly need more than 20KRO for? (or even 6KRO) Face mashing the kb? :p

A lot of benchers only use PS/2 keyboards so they can disable USB in the BIOS. Some platforms benefit from it.

Amazon shipped price is $104 for the K90 vs $12.50 at newegg. Was looking for a new keyboard, and I think Im going to jump.

I missed the $8.50 shipping on Newegg. Meh. Might get from Amazon, but it would be nice if they had the rebate.

I used that ShopRunner trial for free 2-day shipping... Under normal circumstances I pay shipping for everything to Puerto Rico either way, even on Amazon. :( I had already ordered a microSD using that service tho (started the 30-day trial w/it), worked rather well, just gotta remember to cancel it before 30-days if you're gonna check it out I guess.

Ive sent 6 rebates to Corsair this year, only got 2 back.

This year as in 2012 or within the last 12 months? Has enough time lapsed for the other 4 that you think they were denied/lost or you just haven't received them yet?

I've had good luck w/them in the past (on an AX850 PSU and on RAM), I'd hate to hear they've gotten unreliable about it. I've had decent luck w/the vast majority of my rebates tho, maybe one or two lost/denied out of over a dozen in the last year or two.

same. Generally speaking corsair rebates tend to be pretty reliable based on reports.

Great prices. But at least the K90 lacks the solid feel of "real" mechanical keyboards. The plastic on the bottom is thin, the entire macro section is encased in plastic, no aluminum what so ever. Then the whole thing about not every key being mechanical. Drivers fail, but I don't use keyboard drivers anyway. Not like you cant use autokey instead.

I'd like to see a K60 with backlighting, blue switches and a more rugged/solid feeling.

I'm with Impulse on the *KNR thing. 6 is all you need, unless you have over 5 fingers on each hand. I've played on 2KNR keyboards before with no issue... because I have (w) forward bound as mouse 1. So that frees up one key for me :p

I had bought a handful of PSUs and H60/100 between last November and now, and sent 6 in December/January. Only 2 have made it back, one was denied because there wasnt enough proof of purchase when I sent a buy.com invoice with it, the others all said they were sent, but I only got two of them.

Corsair rebates are the worst. They are truly a hit or miss I am 1 out of 3 on corsair rebates. They deny rebates for the smallest things and sometimes they just nonchalantly just never come though they tell you they sent them out.

So you have the K90? I'm considering it but is there any other better option for the money? Backlighting is a must.

The black widow ultimate is nice but clicky and loud, the Tt Esports one only has certain keys backlit and is cherry black. So I said screw it, and orderd the K90 while its on sale. Worst case is I ebay it and lose $5-10.

Better option for the money? Not at $90. Not sure there is any other option.

Just keep in mind that the K90 uses red switches. The switches are very soft and light. They take a while to get used to. Some people end up liking them, some like myself don't like them. I prefer the tactile feedback and click from the blue switches. The tactile feedback is better for typing. For me this also transitions over to gaming.

You are basically looking at $90-200 for a backlit mechanical keyboard. With most of the options in the $140 range. Deck has one for $200.

I tried several keyboard before becoming set on the Ducky Shine with Cherry MX Blue switches White LED. I get the board on Saturday and will report back with my findings.

All Cherry MX mechanical switches are loud in comparison to Membrane keyboards. Comparing Blues vs Reds, Blues are louder. But not at all as much as everyone thinks. Keep in mind the keyboard housing plays a big part in this too. If the keyboard is too tinny, the sound will amplify.

Keyboard switches are like displays. They seem fine until you have something else to compare them with.

That's kinda what I'm thinking. Never really used a mechanical before so I can't be that picky at first. :p Plus most of them seem to be well over $100.

Good to know. Maybe I'll give the K90 a shot. Probably can get most of my money back if I hate it, but I'm not that picky.

Funny thing, too. I forgot Amazon has tax. So between Newegg and Amazon the price difference for me is literally like 3 cents (Newegg being less). Plus, Newegg has the potential rebate. I guess Newegg gets this one.

You in NY? I always forget that I dont pay tax on Amazon in Ohio, but my dad in NY has to.

i bought the k60 as my first mech keyboard and loved it. i thought it was stupid how it didnt come with a full wrist rest like the k90. i also wanted the backlighting of the k90 but have no need for the gkeys. ultimately i ended up returning the k60 for the k90 in favor of back lighting and wrist rest.

Yeah, that's what I figured, if I don't like it and the rebate comes thru then I can probably sell it and still break even... Then I'll just buy a Ducky Shine for $142. Some people may scoff at it but things like the volume drum and whatnot on the Corsair do seem pretty useful to me tho, and I find the aluminum back plate appealing (looks nice, easier to clean hair out...). /shrug

My K90 won't be here until Monday or Tuesday because of local holidays but I'll report back then.

Hah, that's not good... After moving to Dell U2412M's and getting a tablet w/an IPS display as well I'm now really put off by the display on my netbook (and most laptops for that matter). Seems like trying the K90 and/or a Ducky is gonna ruin me yet again. :p

Not worth it.

Spend your money on a better keyboard.

Get a Ducky, or for a bit more get a Ducky Shining... or hell even the Rosewill Mechanicals come in a variety of switch types and feel much better than the hybrid bastardizations that are the K60/K90.

There is also Deck, Filco, Leopold, etc

Plenty of better choices for not much more cash.

I guess it depends on how you define not much more cash... Nearly double the price or more seems like a decent amount of cash to me. :p

Nah, WA. Which makes sense for Amazon.

Usually I'd pick Amazon over Newegg because I have Prime, but the tax kinda kills it on stuff over $50 or so.

Agreed. I don't think you're gonna find something better for ~$90 brand new.

I ordered one last night so I'll post my thoughts when I get it (should be mid next week or so).

Same here! I'm also ordering a Rosewill or CM QuickFire Pro w/MX brown switches (as a gift) since Newegg just dropped a 15% discount code for all keyboards on my e-mail, I'll probably try it out alongside the K90 before parting w/it just to check out the different switch feel in depth.

Code's EMCNFND98, expires at 12pm on Sunday, can't be combined w/the 20% codes for the Corsairs I believe...

Correct, just tried it and it can't be combined. However, one odd thing I noticed is that it seems the 20% off code for the Corsairs doesn't work anymore at all. And it could just be my browser or something, but when I first loaded the K90 page it showed the 20% code on the top, but when I went back to it after logging it, the code disappeared and it wouldn't work at all.

I'll second this. Not all the keys on the corsair boards are mechanical, there are some dome. If you really want a mechanical keyboard, there are betters out there imo.

To me personaly, its a bit crazy to spend over $80 on a keyboard. Everyone has their limits, and many wont pay even half that. Unless it truely blows my mind, Ill end up re-selling it.

I doubt there are better ones for ~$83 AR. And the very first post mentions some of them are dome, but it's like the F keys and some others that you rarely ever use.

Hmm, I'd contact Newegg support if you really wanted to use it. The original e-mail clearly stated it was valid thru the 9th, I can send you the e-mail if ya want.

No it's fine, I already ordered one last night and it went through fine. Just thought it acted oddly today when I was playing around with combining the coupons.

I have one of the k90's. I've had my share of mech keys in my day (not as much as probably alot of people here) but i think the keyboard is pretty great. I'd prefer a ducky shining but at almost twice the cost, I wouldn't do it. I know most of us probably have multiple computers and I'd rather have two k90's over one shining. That's just me.

in the end, I'll always miss my orig ibm clickety clack.

Looks like a great price if this is the style mechanical keyboard you are looking for. I personally love my CM Quickfire in blues that I got for $63 shipped.

Got mine today, and had some mix feelings at first. It looks great in person, and the lighting is awsome. Just the keys felt so freaking weird to me. After 20 minutes or so though, Ive gotten used to them. I typed up a full guide on another forum so far, and only had one error to fix by the end of it (vs multiple errors that I usually end up with). I do find it a bit quicker to type with, but I do have a few times here and there that I have to backspace. 9/10 though its my fault as I usually think faster then I type, and start typing the next word before Im done with the one Im on.

I got mine today too, personally I'm really digging the red switches, i can a already tell that I'll be able to avoid bottoming out even without the tactile feel... I just enjoy the light press required, I'll be comparing it to a Rosewill with browns by Wednesday. The volume drum is pretty darn nice, the bottom plastic didn't feel weak or thin to me, none of the LEDs are malfunctioning either. The rubber dome keys do feel very different but it doesn't bug me much. The aluminum plate looks even better in person imo.

Oh and the backlight stays on whatever setting you left it at even thru reboots (one of the minor complaints I've seen about Ducky).

CM Storm QuickFire at newegg 79.99 regular price - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129002&Tpk=Cm%20storm%20quick%20fire. I've seen it for 60 some dollars on other webpages on sale. Rosewill RK-9000 has gone on sale for 79.99 at times too. So yes, there are better ones.

Doesn't have Red switches, nor ANY of the extra features that the K90 has.
