I get asked about the thing at least 2X a day.

"I really like your watch, what brand is it?"

When I say "Apple", i end up giving a demo of the damn thing.

Damn, that looks pretty cool. I'm actually debating picking up some of these from that vendor so I can jog with it.

My question is... How is the visibility in sunlight?

I'm only looking at it for a second or two in sunlight...so I never have any problems with that. It's not as if you're reading a tablet....

Now, if you decide to use it as a music player...then because you might be looking at it for a while, you might find some difficulty. But the screen gets bright if you need it to.

Understand these are horrible watches I have one for a couple of reasons,

1) I have a little Apple stock, and am essentially a whore for Apple products :)

2.) My employer has seen fit to ban phones, and I needed a way to tell time

That being said, I really like mine, and it's a cool way to start a conversation...

I think the wish for a "cut of the action" is common among Mac users who have doubled as company reps.

Seriously OP.. Me too!
My nano watch has gotten more compliments in two months than every other accessory I've ever owned combined. Every single time I wear it someone notices. Them: I like your watch, what is it? Me: It's an iPod nano. Them: No way!
I bet I've had this conversation a dozen times now.

I'm hoping Apple will work on making a smarter watch for a future project, if they could manage BT connectivity and pushing text, email and notifications to it, I'd be in heaven.

I would settle for just bluetooth. All that other stuff belongs on the phone!:D
OP - very sick watch/nano.. So can you change the face via an app or is it something built into the nano?

how long does it last on a charge if the screen stays on like a real watch?

Probably a couple days. With light usage and screen timeout on I recharge maybe every week.

Hey AQ_QC, I noticed that you are using the black HEX Vision watch band, how does it look for every-day use over the silver color?

I'm looking into the black hex vision, along side maybe a british tan leather watch strap as well (though I'm hoping british tan isn't tacky).

For me, I like subdued colors, so the gun metal grey is right up my alley. The watch looks very nice...and i like that the screen isn't on all the time. A very distinctive look. The one think I would like is more watch faces...and not the mickey mouse kind. I'm super picky about watches and this is the only found i have that actually like. Sad that I had to get it from Apple, but those are the breaks.

He'd rather swap batteries. Then again, I got that silly Fossil palm watch a long time ago, too :( I haven't used my Nano as a watch, however.

They shouldn't have batteries. What are you talking about?

Thanks for the reply, will be looking into it a bit before making my final decision, also my bad on the AQ_QC, I didn't notice the O! :).

I have one aswell so I could use the Nike+ app. There are a couple differnet faces you can choose from on the nano, dont think there are any other options other than what comes on it.

There are about 18 clock faces. I only like 1 of 2. More are needed, IMO.

Hopefully the next Nano will run iOS (instead of the ancient Pixo OS) and have real support for apps and upgrades. I think Apple could make some serious scratch by selling new clock faces for 99c.

How would it run an iOS and apps designed for a 3.5" screen?

A modified interface for its form factor? The current Nano sports an interface that already resembles elements from iOS. I'm not holding my breath for full app store support, but even a "Games Store" like previous versions of the iPod had would be great.

I don't need my watch to run apps or even iOS, though I agree on the clock faces. Running apps is just going to drain the battery.
