PC users petition Namco Bandai for Dark Souls

people will bitch about online portion more than anything
how do i invite friend to my session??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Does a lot of that happen now?

Graphically, I wouldn't care if anything was improved or not improved. If the game has good gameplay, I'll buy it.

Nice thought, but I've been hoping someone would do that with Forza/GTA/SEGA GT 2002 for the past 10 or so years. No luck yet.

If I could have a racing "simulation" similar to Forza, Gran Turismo (I think this is what you meant by GTA, instead of Gran Theft Auto) and Sega GT (Man this was an awesome game, being able to build your own car was pretty awesome.) I'd be all over it.

Well, well, well, looks like theres light at the end of the tunnel.
The post that started all this has been updated:

Victory not quite, but almost, achieved?

I signed up at their forums, quoted that post and approved it.

Well I haven't played it, but if it looks as good as current generation PS3 games (I've seen videos, but none were in HD I don't believe) then I'd be happy as long as it supported > 720P resolutions, which I don't foresee that being too hard.

Signed the petition and I also liked the Facebook page.

I bought it for PS3, but you should definitely care. I am someone who would purchase the game again, even at full price if it was worth the money.

Dying to axe blades because it's hard to see where they swing sounds.. tedious.

I'll sign this at home, although games with what I call "incremental replay value" aren't my cup of tea.

/facepalm at that Kotaku article bitching about Sen's Fortress. You can just move the camera and see exactly where the blades are... He is trying to make it sound like the game is Super Meat Boy or something launching 100mph blades at you out. There is one catwalk in Sen's where you need to run through 2 axes, stop, and then run through 2 more. Someone ALWAYS puts a message on the ground at the stopping point, so it isn't very tough.

Yeah I think I died once or twice (total in two playthroughs) in that area, it's really not a big deal.

It's not replay value, it's the challenge the game presents to your gaming skills. Think of it as a constructive gaming experience, where your skills are what enable you to progress in the game, and when you do die, you're expected to LEARN from your death and use that information to help you overcome the obstacle that caused your death.

This comment reminds me of a guy I knew who used to talk about video games like they were training or something... he was a very, very weird kid :p

Hence the replay. Get to point A, die, respawn, get past point A to point B, rinse and repeat, occasionally dying at an earlier point. Eventually you get to the next save point--it's arcade style all the way and games like that don't normally appeal to me, although the general support for this game has me curious. I'm a sucker for forum reviews. :D

Honestly, until they fix the fucking MP to where it should be (Demon's Souls), then honestly, I don't see how it's worth it. The way they set it up and trying to play with friends is FUCKING HARD. I doubt they would ever change that for Steam.

The game is supposedly hard as well, what makes you think trying to play with friends will be easy in a game of [H]ardness?

It's more the idea of being fun than being hard. Demon's Souls had basically the best kind of MP for what it was and then Namco Bandai came around and fucked it all up.

I was just giving you a hard time.

How is trying to join a friends game so hard though?

From Software doesn't want you playing with friends.

Count me in for a launch day buy, if it comes out for the PC. If:
1. It has excellent controls.
2. It doesn't have a horrible, unchangeable 40-50 degree FOV.

I bought a PS/3 to play Demon's Souls. And while I could see that it was a great game, and played for 20+ hours over a week or 2, I just couldn't get past having to use a controller to play it.

That's been true of most PS/3 games I've tried. Anything that needs aiming, is a chore using the controller, compared to the ease and precision of using a keyboard+mouse.

Demon's Souls: One giant server, so it's easier to find your friends.

Dark Souls: Multiple small servers, so you can connect to one server, and your friend is on another and you can never connect to each other unless you somehow get on the same server (you can't choose the server).

I haven't played Dark Souls, but Demon's Souls was hard in a different way then something like Super Meat Boy. Each individual task the game gave you was easily passable, but the penalty for failure was huge. You didn't have to have levels memorized in order to make it through, but if you ever let your guard down the game made sure you did not repeat that mistake. This created an awesome sense of tension throughout the game, because even small errors could cost you half your life bar and hours of xp. While there are times where you will have to take a breath and calm down, Demon's Souls never felt impossible.

I don't care for these games. Let me know when they port Ace Combat 6 to PC and make a true sequel to it (and not another Assault Horizon). Though I know neither of these will ever happen.

There are more people saying "Please let it be DLC!" than "Please let it be a PC port!".

I hope they mean "free DLC" or "very large expansion". Otherwise, I would like them to leave the planet. Begging to buy DLC would be indicative of a very sad state of affairs.

Hopefully it is a Portal gun and Dragon Age III armor DLC as a cross promotional tie in.

C'mon now...

Could it be anymore obvious?

It's not their facebook page likes that matter, which is what I thought as well. Its the dark souls app you have to like, which only 7k have.

Oh, well that probably explains why this isn't going anywhere. I totally missed that...
