Just a note:

Don't quote this post with all the pictures, for everyone's reading sake of the thread... please? :p

SOURCE of pictures (off of a review site, reposted onto XS: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums...orce-GTX-780&p=5069765&viewfull=1#post5069765)

Looks like Kepler is going to win on price, perf/watt, perf, price/perf, die size, power consumption, and drivers... FXAA is now in the control panel too.

I'll let the pics speak for themselves. Drivers are not necessarily newest per forums, so some results supposedly are "low" via early reports, and OC has been seen up to 1350-1400mhz possibly:

426 euro excluding vat = around $400-450 launch price in US typically for a pre-order:

EDIT with additional info regarding a new anti-aliasing method:

Practical function open: new antialiasing technology TXAA

In addition to the graphics performance, NVIDIA also for the needs of gamers, add a number of new and useful features for a new generation of the GeForce GTX 680, released a new anti-aliasing technology TXAA, a new generation of hardware rendering anti-aliasing technology, actually belongs to the old MSAA's enhanced version provides better anti-aliasing I can reduce the open antialiasing fluency decline, for the time being belonging to the GeForce GTX 680 unique anti-aliasing, but NVIDIA said that the above will be open at a later time to the GeForce GTX 500 or Model.

TXAA temporarily can be divided into two levels: TXAA 1 and TXAA, the former costs only 2x the MSAA similar, but the MSAA is better than the 8x anti-aliasing; As for TXAA 2 effect is more outstanding, but the cost only similar with 4x MSAA. TXAA game itself support to be open to use, support TXAA variety of games will be held during the year stage, although present, failed to test its real performance, but based on the NVIDIA official photos can be seen, antialiasing does, it is worth looking forward to.

In addition to the new TXAA Antialiasing, NVIDIA is also an existing graphics card users to bring good news, the introduction of the original few games before the corresponding FXAA to the NVIDIA Control Panel, users can easily turn the feature on. lead to better anti-aliasing for different games, and enhance the quality of the game screen.

Nice compilation!

That price looks compelling but I'd like to add a few notes.
HD 7970s can be had from ~450 euros though, and they are $550+ so I'm not sure about the conversion rate. In the past it has been about 1:1 $/euro, but not necessarily the current gen. HD 7950 are going from 380euros but are $450+.

I'll wait until trusy ole [H] gets an OFFICIAL review up. You know, once Kepler is actually launched.

:p

Either way....meh. Lets see some results with the 680 and 7970 at same clocks since most 7970s can OC to 1.1ghz+ on stock cooling and volts. I think the 7970s clocks were released too low.

And lulz on the BF3 graph.:p

I think it's fairly obvious the GK104 is slightly faster but the 7970 is damn fast as well and when you factor in overclocking it becomes a whole nother ball game. Both look great, it's a good time to be an enthusiest.

I really hope the price will be something around $400.. that will make ATI lower the price on 7950 hehe

Adaptive Vsync :

New Adaptive VSync technology

NVIDIA, on the other hand, made for the actual operation of fluency of the game is optimized and to promote the new Adaptive VSync VSync setting are gamers, open the main purpose is to reduce the graphics card output image is generated in different fps too fast or too slow situations, and the output frame rate is locked in with the mainstream display screen 60fps. However, the image of the actual output of the graphics card will still be due to different scenes within the game for differences between the actual output fps lower than 60fps fps, will be directly reduced to 30 below 30fps is reduced to 20fps.

In fact, such cases are quite common, and convert 60fps to 30fps of the screen will significantly slow the beating, which greatly affect the fluency of the game, the new Adaptive VSync just solve the problem, when the Adaptive VSync enabled, the system automatically detection of the actual operation fps than 60 VSync will open a locked 60fps output frames, such as less than 60 will be automatically VSync turn off and running to the actual output frames to reduce all of a sudden dropped to 30fps from 60fps is the emergence of slow beat, can be very useful.

So lets recap here. We got Adaptive Vsync (Brilliant, should've been there long ago as it's been on consoles awhile now), TXAA Antialiasing (TXAA1 / TXAA), and FXAA now selectable in control panel. DX11.1 is nowhere to be seen. But is it really needed or more of a anomaly like DX8.1 was on the Radeon 8500 over the GF3 Ti?

oh baby :p

I love zotac cards. i hope there is an amp! version in the works with yummy aftermarket cooling installed and factory OC. om nom nom nom

Why is the 680 OCed in the benchmarks, or is that some sort of "boost" feature?

It's not, that is the default clock speeds. And yeah they have a GPU boost feature as per the pics above.

Only issue I see with it is the mem. I run NVSurround and 1.5 is a bit weak on the 580s. They needed to up it to 3GB.

I'd really like to see how fast this overclocked vs a 7970 overclocked is.

Exactly, how do you convert 426 euro into $400 usd?? No way. It will be $500-$550

56k warning? pfft. I came here expecting gigantic images. I'm only using a 17" @ 1280x1024.

Yes thats what I said earlier, that will be the defining moment in this fight imo. Because both cards are STACKED and run amazing as is.

[H] review is coming soon to a PC screen near you! And it's evident by the "OCP" contained in this very site's name that there will be some sweet oc'ing going on in the review.

It will be 2 GB. The pre-order links show the stats.

Zotac - ZOTAC GTX680 2GB DDR5
256 bit
1006 (core)
6008 (memory presumably)
HDCP
Dual DVI
HDMI
DP (displayport)

1.7 volts? That's a pretty extreme overclock....

I'm more curious about average OCs.

Good performance, good thermals, new features
I'm sold :)

You know OCP actually stands for Online Comparison Page....

They used to have it right on the page, but that was a long time ago heh.

In any case, I don't doubt they will overclock it.

Looking forward to the official info. I'm wanting to upgrade my GPU this summer (got a fantastic price of $100 on a new 6870 when I built, to tide me over for the kepler release) and looking forward to price wars!

Yes, but comparison of...what?

Really? i thought it used to be hardware overclockers paradise !

Also, from the pics and measurements posted in that link, the die is closer to 320mm^2

Excluding VAT at 400-450 USD only? More like your wishful thinking...

Considering it's a pre-order and those tend to be overpriced, plus euros don't convert into USD directly on video card MSRP's... it's possible. Do you have the actual MSRP from a review? In the meantime I'll take what I can find, which is that.

That shopping pages says delivery in 2-5 weeks. So they probably don't even have them yet (or they have reeeally bad postage). So all of that probably isn't something to base much on. At the least it might give a possible date for availiblity.

Lots of the rest is still fluff/possible nonsense until proved true or false... At which point it's all pointless. :p

That's a standard placeholder for pre-orders on most vendors ;) when they don't have an exact date provided by their distributor.

Rest isn't fluff/nonsense, it's from an actual Chinese review that was released early. We'll see extremely similar, if not better (due to improved drivers that I have been seeing reviewers hinting at being circulated for actual NDA-drop reviews) results at launch next week.

Excellent post!

So is that rumor true that once NVIDIA saw how little performance the 7970 provided that they decided to make their mid-range the GTX 680?
