It doesn't make it so, it just makes it credible. It separates scientifically sound theories from half-baked nonsense (like "reverse gravity explains the cosmic microwave background") and outright bullshit (like "mutations can't reproduce").You mean like a million scientists all agreeing on evolution makes it so? When they all present their like minded peer revues, and they all agree, that that makes it so?
The reviewers don't need to agree with your theory; they just need to agree that your model is consistent, your reasoning is solid, and your conclusions are consistent with your data. The scientific community sure as hell didn't agree with special relativity in 1905, but it still got published.
