Post your Workstation 2012

slick setup, although it looks a bit too much like a hairdressers for my taste

Yeah, you're right. I wouldn't want that set up either. It's too nice. I'd want something more mediocre.

Sheesh.

Close this thread already b/c no one's going to post their pics anymore after seeing that beast of a room. Either that or have everyone make a bunch of nonsense posts to bury those pics about ten pages deep so we all can feel safe to post pics again!

Here's the mobile workstation I'm currently putting in my Nissan Frontier (during build phase)

My broke-arsed Touch Screen LCD (it arrived like that and I used it for testing, then RMA'd it. New one arrives tonight :)

Few important notes:

I upgraded the 60GB Corsair SSD to a 480GB Corsair Force GT (it arrived yesterday)

I loaded Windows 8 (very nice install process and it found everything)

That's silly, this isn't a competition...I appreciate everyone's comments but this wasn't meant to cause such a stir. :D

Please keep posting, it's threads like this iv'e been watching over the course of 10 years that help pave the way for ideas. My room is a combination of ideas i've gained because of threads like these.

Yeah, keep the posts and pics coming. Everyone has something to contribute. This thread is like a great brainstorming session for workstation ideas.

That line about Chrisman's setup looking like a hairdresser's studio was pretty funny, though. :p

I was kidding of course. I absolutely love your setup. I was going to post my setup in a week after I move my system from the FT02 to a LL X2000F. I like my setup pretty well but it's tough following your submission!

notarat, do you have a build log? i've thought about making a carpc as well for my ride. would love to see your progress.

So I'm not allowed to say something is not to my personal tastes? I'm not dissing it, as I said, it's a very slick set-up, it's just not my cup of tea, I wouldn't choose to do something like that in my house

Posted this in the pics of your rig thread by accident. Smarts.

I like it, nice and clean no bs reliable and easy to use. I dislike osx, but I have complaints about every os (except Ubuntu its the best. I am not at all biased...), the hardware for the price is top shelf however and thunderbolt is a great technology as soon as more mainstream hardware is available.

All I wish for is macbook air with optical audio out.. plus an optical 3 channel board mackie preferably, and optical preamp out to digital monitors... Maybe toss an optical patch bay in there somewhere for giggles. Over kill really.

That's super clean. I like it.

My home office and game room, finally got around to painting it and getting rid of the nasty peach color that it used to be.

My daughter approves. I swear that she spends more time in here than I do!

My apologies if I do this incorrectly.

We just moved in a few months ago to a new build. Here's my current layout. Looking to take a major shopping trip to the nearest Ikea (3 hours away) very soon.

The TV will be corner mounted up high soon.[/QUOTE]

Goodness, I hope you plan on cleaning up those wires a bit. Those pics make me dizzy.

I've got the same case for my car-pc build. mp3car.com has everything you need to learn more, good starting point!

finally had time to get some stuff setup closer to correct.

still can move the desk back once I do more cord work

Been a looong time since I've shared my set up. Moved to China last November and finally got everything together, feels much more like home now :)

A question about the wiring.

Doesn't pulling the power wires taught so the system looks so clean put undo strain on the wires? I'm trying to have better looking cabling in my own case and just wondered.

Really the wires aren't that taught, and once in position, they really don't move, so no real harm done.

You can actually buy extension cables for most of your system cables, so that you can give yourself the slack you need to reach the connectors and then just pull them "snug" so that only the minimum amount is visible. As an example, for your 24-pin motherboard power connector, you might use this.

Queue bitching about Apple monitors.

(that's what they look like anyway)

It's not so much hair salon as it is OCD........way too neat and not a dust bunny in sight. That IS the most awesome frickin' room Ive ever seen, though....It cries out for Eyefinity.

I'd be afraid to spill my coffee in there........my Mom loves it though.;)

Clean, simple. The real question is how the hell are you posting on the hardforums from china? Would your ISP get banned if I mentioned Tiananmen Square a bunch of times?

Oh and how are the speeds out there?

Eh? Why wouldn't I be able to post on [H] from China? Forums are not not on the "banned" list ie. Facebook/Youtube/Twitter/etc. (all which I still access via VPN).

The speed is...bearable I guess. Going downloading from 2500 kpbs to 450 is a bit hard to swallow, but I'll survive.

So I was leaving, laptop bag on shoulder and I spontaneously felt compelled to re-arrange my office, take a picture and post here.

Finally swapped the last HP 2335 for a HP LP2475, 3x24" ftw.
Also removed a usb hub that had been annoying me for some time (cable mess), using the hub on the HP monitor + cable hiders behind it.
