Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread

I actually heard if you don't fuck EDI that Joker does and if you don't fuck Tali, Garrus fucks her. The ship is basically an orgy.
I wish Bioware could split their studio into the god damned interactive porn division they want so badly to be and the game division. I don't want nor need that crap in my game and the fact that they've wasted dev time on it because of the horned up Bioware Social nuts is ridiculous.

To some extent I agree it's overdone. On the other hand, it adds more immersion and dare I say, realism, to the game. You aren't just some asexual killing machine; you're a complex character with multiple motivations.

Grabbing collars and sexing the aliens does add a layer of deep philosophical realization that sometimes you just have to get your rocks off in space.

Never understood why people take so much offense at the romance portions of the game. Don't like it, don't pursue it, end of fucking story.

This thread got epic fast. Thanks, I needed a good laugh. :D

He's too fragile to have sex anyway, especially with a robot.

Good point. But I fear he may go all suicidial depressive. Your pilot, I remind you.

Me neither. Frankly, romances have been part of RPGs for quite some time and not just Bioware games.

Like TES, except Oblivion & Skyrim don't go too far with it unless you ramp up the maturity rating with some mods. I can at least appreciate the option to do so in BioWare games in the way that they present them.

Edit: DA2 sort of did it in a bad way but I won't go off topic.

Exactly! Despite interspace travel, advanced technology, human biotics...sometimes a man just wants a BJ from his hot secretary. :D

The witcher 2 hit it out of the fucking park in terms of romance. Triss ftw! Jesus that cut scene in the tent was pretty nice. First time I saw a female form look almost lifelike supple and what not. boing!

That's the difference between tastefully done in game romance and whatever the hell David Gaider did in DA2.

QFT. Triss gave life to The Witcher 2... :D

Now to see if ME3 will follow the lead.

I have no problem with romances. Bastilla in KOTOR for example was well done. But spending time coding a sex scene with a robot? Come on... I'd rather have more actual content.

He tried to include everyone and it just was horrible. I blame some of it on the game being rushed, but it broke my suspension of disbelief and that is very hard to do. I'm all for sexually diverse characters, but making every single companion bi was taking it a little far.

This... I had a blech moment with Garret & Anders for being the good guy & answering nicely. NEVER AGAIN. After that I just answered very coldly to him.

Top that off with the fact that only a couple of the companions were interesting at all. That and some dialogue choices that weren't really romance oriented would get you into a romance anyway. NPC - "My life has been crappy" You - "Aww, I'm sorry to hear that." NPC - "Let's do it behind the dumpster!!".

Dude, do we really know if EDI actually is romanceable/screwable? If Bioware would have made such statement that you can screw a damn robot it I would be all Fox News drama again I bet. :D Valshistixol was surely just talking shit (except for the avatar body part), something we all love to do.

...or atleast so I hope... AGAIN...

Yes, DA2 was a train wreck in so many ways. The only good thing about it was the combat (except for random spawns) and the fact that they gave me ME2 for free after buying it, thus introducing me to what is now my favorite game series ever.

People seem to be really looking forward to Mass Effect 3-Way, but Bioware will probably save that for DLC.

so was shepard the first dude to meet an alien...................and fuck it

Mass effect 3 looks great running Super sampling 16X AA and 16Anis filtering. Running tri-fire 7970s im getting only 35% GPU usage but all 3 are working. I pre bought it and got the free BF3 which was nice.

Yeah part of me thinks it would be a good idea to play the first two again before ME3... but I doubt I'll have the patience for that once ME3 is out.

Thanks for the spoilers guys. really.

so moronic, maybe I wanted that to be a surprise? (that edi is a playable character) at least put spoiler warnings.

for fucks sake.

I would take the "spoilers" thus far in this thread with a grain of salt. :p

Edit: But not the femshep being DP'ed by 2 krogan...that's confirmed by Bioware.

I beat ME1 on 360 but got ME2 on Steam, so importing my old save wasn't an option. I just found a default Shep save off a ME save site that had all the choices I could recall making in ME1 intact.

Step 1- Import Step 2- Win

Unfortunately if you don't want games to be spoiled you really can't read forums. These days if there's a game I know I want I'll just ignore the forums and play it fresh for myself rather than ruining it by reading a bunch of impressions and spoilers from people. Its great to say read forum comments to see if a game is worth getting, but it also kinda diminishes the experience of playing it fresh and unencumbered for yourself.

Since the game hasn't been released, I'd call it speculation, FUD & hearsay. Not much more until some plays through the game & takes all questlines to the fullest.

Has anybody here who has tried the PC demo confirm whether or not it has native controller support? With ME2 I had to spend hours to make it work with my 360 controller using Pinnacle Game Profiler. Might consider going with the ps3 version if that's the case, but I would much rather play it on my PC...

Of course it won't support the 360 controller. Bioware doesn't support controllers on the PC.

Had mine plugged in and it definitely doesn't work.

And really, if all of civilization is going to be vaporized by a bunch of robots, I think people would be shacking up at an increased rate.

I would. Humans, aliens, robots. Everything.

Every. Thing.

There are ways to import the 360 save file to the PC and vice-versa.

What, is that somekind of company policy? Most companies who have never had native support are adding it now, as more and more PC gamers are using controllers. MW3 added native support, DX3 added native support, Fear 3, Portal 2, Witcher 2, etc...these are just examples of sequels where the previous game didn't have native support. It seems doubly silly for Bioware not to include it when they've already done all the necessary programming for the console versions of the ME games.

Damn...now I have to find out how much better the PC version looks as compared to the PS3 version. The gulf wasn't that big in ME2, but that doesn't mean it won't be this time around...

I don't remember what the exact quote, but before the PC version ME1 came out this question was asked and the answer was a typical Bioware non-answer, but it had something to do with them specifically designing the UI for PCs.

Well, if that's their reason, they don't have a reason. I was able to make ME1 and ME2 work with my 360 controller flawlessly, using their UI exactly as it's intended for the PC. If I could do that using a 3rd party emulator program, it wouldn't be much for them to build it in.

I suppose I could just do it again for ME3, but it takes hours upon hours to build a new profile from scratch and get it to work just right.
