What projector is that? What is it connected to? What's your opinion on using a projector? I'm thinking about getting one but I don't really know that much about how projectors fare against tv's.

@ ZeosPantera

I will eventually get a proper screen, but the polk speaker sale from newegg kinda pushed that purchase back a bit. It really does look great even just thrown on the wall. Right now i'm leaning towards a Jamestown screen (http://jamestownhometheaterscreen.com/120_screenDiagonal.html), as it seems like a great bang for the buck screen.

@ the337

The projector is an Epson 8350 connected to my computer via 35' monoprice dvi-hdmi cable. Projectors don't work well in every situation, but with a little planning and room design (ie ambient light control) they cannot be beat for the price. When conditions are right, the quality is on par & can exceed most LCDs today at whatever size you like or can fit on a wall :). I highly recommend the LCD projectors from Epson. The flexibility in placement they provide has worked out wonderfully when changing my apartment layout.

I'm still wondering, whats the point in one workstation to have 2 PC's?
Someone please answer me.
Or are they different OS?

Judging by the screensaver and magic mouse on warlun's second screen - it looks like he is running mac os. Regardless, if it were two PC's - Why not? =P The more the merrier!

Many reasons...
- Could be running different OS but now a day it can be done easily via virtualization
- Possibly a dedicated file server

And for me, I used to have a dedicated file server, ftp server and a bit torrent downloader on a low powered machine so I don't have to keep my primary system on all the time.

Could also be a dedicated folding rig for the F@H crew.

I run two PCs, each with a dedicated keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

It's mostly so I can do other stuff while fullscreen gaming. Check my e-mail during loading screens, use the DotaCash web client to find DotA games, pull up a map or item information, etc. Dual monitors could technically do that, but it would be a pain to constantly have to alt-tab out to do something on the other screen. Much easier to move my hand 6 inches over to a different mouse.

However, I do have them set up so that I don't have to roll my chair or rotate my body to switch - I can just look over. I'm not sure why some people have the setup with two PCs 6-10 feet apart on a long desk, unless they keep one around for a friend, sibling, roommate, or SO to use on a regular basis.

I've got a Windows machine and a Linux machine. There's nothing wrong with two computers. The Windows computer never leaves the house, though - Linux is just right for those nights out on the town.

I've had two PCs for the last 14 years. I have 3 screens on one and 2 on the other. Both Win 7 but I run VMs on both. I do different things with them.

Used to do the same (but with two laptops, Desktop replacement gamer and then a lighter browser). Recently though I've been using my iPad. It's actually probably where it gets the most usage (outside of when I use it at work).

But I totally agree with the usefulness of having a second device right there, rather than needing to alt tab. (Using a tablet for sector maps in X3 is a lot of fun, feels like an addition to the game).

I run 3 pc's at my workstation, each with monitor, mouse, and keyboard.
I use it to run 3 accounts of Lineage 2, or like others have said, to pla ya game and look up maps and stuff.

It never hurts to have more and this is the [H] forum after all. :D

CHEAP GALANT ALERT!

IKEA in West Covina California has this Birch Galant Display unit for sale in the 'As-Is' section of the store! Cant beat the price! This includes the half round end piece, and A-Legs. Someone pick this up!! Only has a couple minor scuffs, nothing bad!

Wow, nice deal... shouldn't last long. I'm too far from westco. :(

I posted my setup on here last week or something. I just added something that I'm rather pleased about, so I thought I would go ahead and update to see what you guys think.

It's an extendable tv mount for my 19" I watch while I'm using the 42" as a computer monitor, made completely from scrap left over from the desk frame build!

Let me know what you think!!!!

I think I like the bottle of Johnny Walker on the top shelf. (at least I think that's what it is.....)

The DIY mount is nice too :D

Home office is coming together nicely. Got my longer PC cables to move my PC farther down the Galant, and made a trip to IKEA for two LACK shelves that I hung staggared. Im not fond of the color of these walls so I am more than likely painting the office tomorrow.

I LOVE the amount of room the Galant with extensions has! Room for my 24", 13" Macbook Pro, 15" Macbook Pro, iPad, 15" HP ProBook, Joystick, AND Police Scanner... and still have plenty of room left over!

Haha, I am SUPER anal about dust, and I live in a dusty area. It's a never ending battle...

The 13" Pink MacBook Pro is my wife's, the 15" MacBook Pro is my Dual Boot "play" machine... I do the occasional on-sight graphics or video editing with it, the HP is my company issued Laptop. I work in IT and am surrounded by technology... I removed my 3D Samsung 23" 120hz monitor because I wanted as little clutter on the desk, you can see it by the trash can.
