Skyrim Modding Megathread

Does anyone know the cause for barrels that are added by the CK to disappear after activated? I know that large meshes disappear but I don't think I've read anything about barrels doing the same. Hmm, maybe if I check the Full LOD box it'll fix the problem.

Edit: Yep, that seems to have fixed it. Hooray for buggy CK!

steam workshop and nexus aren't working for me. they must be getting hammered. workshop wont load and nexus, files dont exist.

Out of the 17 or so presets, half of them had a "cool" setting while the other a "warm" setting. I didn't find the colors over-saturated at all. I'll work on a screenshot.

I've tried them all. Every single one is too saturated, and has an over-bloomed sky. It's a shame because I really do like the distant blur effect itself. It makes the world feel bigger.

Looks like steam is working again. Currently browsing through SW stuff. Nexus seems to be back up too.

Edit: Guess it's not fully back up yet. Skyrim launcher crashes when I try and sync the mods.

Me too...:(

Everytime it tries to sync the mods.

It's been doing it a whole lot over the last couple of days. Lots of Error 500 messages and timed out requests and so on.

I haven't played skyrim in a long time and I just updated skyrim and updated nexus mod manager, got a few mods, and when i try to launch through nmm it says I have a newer version of skyrim than this version of SKSE supports. Is this true or am I doing something wrong?

For anyone using RL, here are my DoF settings:
DOFStrengthModGlobal=.2
DOFDistanceModGlobal=2.6
DOFRangeModGlobal=3

This creates a low/medium strength distant blurring which is pretty nice. I am not all that sure what DOFRangeModGlobal does though.

Some cooking mods:
Addictive Skooma:
Why does Skyrim's skooma have no negative effects? Well, now it does!

Do you know if Sky UI has any better way to do hotkeys? The main thing that annoys me about it's interface is the fact that you can't do any equipment combos to a single hotkey or assign to the left or right hands from a hotkey except for the clunky way it works now.

I mean just being able to assign a sword and shield to a single hotkey and a healing and ward spell to another would be great for example.

Hotkeys are handled by the quick-favorites menu I believe. So you'd need something like this mod: Categorized favorites menu. While it's main purpose is to flesh out the favorites menu, it recently added the ability to add entire equipment sets/loadouts as hotkeys too.

The MOD community is pretty huge, any word, if even possible of a Multiplayer or CO-OP MOD? If I could play this with 1-4 friends over LAN, I would be in Heaven.

I have no idea how to install any of these DoF mods. I have installed every other mod and have absolutely no problems up to this point. These things are kicking my ass. I've tried both NMM and manual install and I still don't see any of the effects in game.

You need to make sure that the ENB DX9 mod is installed in order for it to work.

Downloaded ENB Series v0.105 (latest release) and still doesn't work. I've even tried running the enbinjector.exe before opening Skyrim, and still nothing. :(

RL: change the three global modifier settings to numbers above zero. Run the jar file then activate the patcher esp file.

Dragon warrior efffects: in the game read the book the mod gives you and choose one of the filters with DoF.

These two methods have nothing to do with ENB but ENB has its own DoF too if you want to try it.

In your inventory, correct? Nothing new pops up in there. I have tried removing every mod except for Dragon Warrior, and still nothing. I think this DoF stuff just hates my system.

"When you first start the mod, after a few seconds, a book "Imagicon" will be added, that makes menus accessible."

No book was added for you?

Starting the mod = starting Skyrim and entering the game?

No book called "Imagicon" appeared in my Inventory, if so.

I am updating Skyrim, maybe that's the issue.

Yeah, checking the mod in the whatever mod managing program you use so it is active then loading up your saved game.

Anyone seen a mod which adds buff timers? How about enemy health bars?

I spent the better half of Saturday modding the shit out of my skyrim. Between Realistic Lighting without Post-Processing, Realistic Overhaul Textures, and Sounds of Skyrim--holy hell is my game looking and overall feeling badass.

I finally have it to the point where i'm happy with it entirely. Save for still the necessity for better key bindings and better perk trees and better skill effects, etc.

Wars in skyrim is also pretty damn awesome.

I don't notice "Sounds of Skyrim" when I'm playing. Is there a trick?

I'm pretty sure the only "trick" is that the mod is ~1/3 finished. Every dungeon i've gone in seems to be working, but only sometimes do you hear the outdoor noises, and i've never heard city noise, so it must not be in.

Little confused. I got Dragon Warrior working but didn't care for the saturation so I'm waiting for a separate file which the author will provide. The "3 Global DoF" are for RL? Which I assume to be "Realistic Lighting" which doesn't come with a jar or esp file. Furthermore, are these 3 settings put into Skyrimprefs.ini or another file?

Also couldn't get ENB series 0.103 working with Matso Visual Immersion, even with the ENB executable, and ENB d3d9 mods installed correctly. Supposedly it doesn't work with 0.105 anyway so I passed on that. Little frustrated, any tips appreciated.

You are correct that RL = Realistic Lighting. As I stated some posts back (when my post was bashed to death), RL has gotten an update that has a different link than what the OP has. The updated RL is what people should be using from now on as the old RL has been abandoned and is obsolete. The new RL contains a tweakable ini and jar file (read the readme for instructions). Yup, he's only completed dungeons so far.

You'll know it's working if you're in a dungeon with Draugr. The Draugr noises are a bit on the loud side right now.

Awesome, thanks. Are you using the ENB version or standard? Also, is DoF effect dynamic or static?

I use the standard. The ENB version hasn't been worked on much so pluto suggests not using it.

The DoF is static. Likely the same thing in Dragon Warrior Effects but can be configured.

im actually looking forward most to city noise. I remember very fondly the sounds of taverns and cities in Baldur's gate that made me feel like i was actually in a bustling busy place. Drunkards singing, clinking of glasses, idle chatter. It really made the game.

thats, and the ununderstandable muttering and chanting that happens sometimes. Creepy as heck.

I love it so much... it makes dungeons feel much more treacherous now, and goosebump feelings are awesome in this game. Haha.

dj_2004 - I plugged in your global DoF settings but I'm not seeing any difference. Is there an extreme I can try so i can see if it's working or not? Like upping DOFStrengthModGlobal=.2 to "5" or something?

Yes, 5 would definitely be noticeable.

I took some comparison pictures while I was playing with the values yesterday. I think this is what the DoF looks like with the values I posted:

*This is on v3.2.

In NMM, when I click on the Realistic Lighting Patcher.esp entry it says "Warning: Plugin Appears Corrupt" next to it. I'm wondering if that's the issue.
