Anyone see any new news on 78xx series recently?

Was hoping to use this $40 Newegg "gift card" towards a 7850/7870, and it expires Feb 26th.

My OC'd GTX 460 is doing okay, but I'd really like to run some MSAA in BF3.

why run msaa when fxaa gives you similar image quality at way less of a fps hit

You should try contacting Newegg and explaining that you want to use the gift card when the 7800 series is released. Newegg has great customer service and will probably offer you an extension.

That's already on. IMO there is a huge difference when MSAA is on in addition, but it kills performance. Without MSAA, I'm using the full 1GB.

That might be an idea once the expiration date gets closer. Was really hoping they'd be out this month.

7870 should perform very close to the 6970 and expect incredible performance/watt. Should be out by March along with the 7990.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Hoping for 6970ish performance with little power/heat.. also need it to be 9.5" with rear-facing power connectors. Not sure how likely the length and power connector orientation is (they seem to like side-facing lately), but that's what I'm hoping to get. Was also hoping it was going to be February :(

if i remember correctly the 7870 is the 28nm version of the 6950 and the 7890 is the 28nm version of the 6970 and then you have the in-between 6950/6870 card which is the 7850. but then again they could of changed it since the last time i looked at the roadmap/leaked info.

looking at that chart on anandtech it looks like they did change it..
