Well it finally arrived, since it's been in the back of a truck for over a week, at least the last 2 days here in central Canada, I unboxed it and I am letting it warm up before powering it. The way they ship them is with th DVI cable attached to the monitor port, which is fished through an opening in the stand, then the excess cable folded and in a plastic bag and resting on the top of the monitor base. The base is textured black plastic, and the VC end of the cable was hanging out of the bag, so the top of the base is marked up. First impressions- My original 3007WFP looked more impressive, and had far better packaging. I almost thought this was a returned item, but after close inspection, it appears new, it's an A05 built in Mexico. After it warms up, I'll test it for uneven backlight, tinting, and pixels, then update this post.
Edit: I lucked out and received a good one, quite surprised after some of the posts in this thread. There is no tinting gradient, I never noticed any backlight bleed during booting, etc, no pixel problems at all. There might be some slight uneveness to the coating and/or a very slight blue tint, but only under certain whites. You always forget how huge these things are until you sit in front of one. I wouldn't risk exchanging this monitor, so I will contact Dell next week and see if they will send me out a new base. A very happy camper with this one !
