Samsung S27A750D 120Hz

Yeah i know about Best Buy, i was more wondering if anyone found a store that actually carries it in stock and does not require ship to store.

Does anyone know when will Tigerdirect will have more of these in stock? I really would like to get one but I guess I was too late.

That is for the 23" one. Tigerdirect is out of stock and cc and compusa is all in the same line now lol

Pardon me if this has already been answered. I have a GTX580 with 2xDVI and 1xmini-hdmi. Will the HDMI drive the monitor at 120HZ?

CP5670, I'm almost in the same boat as you:

I bought a Atlona DP400 converter so I could have 3 of these monitors on eyefinity @ 120hz. Tiger is backordered, but they sent me 1 monitor, figure I'd try the converter out on my Radeon 7970. For the life of me I can't get a 120hz option. How did you do it? I installed the displayport driver for the monitor, but windows will only give me a 60hz option.

Anyway to check what accesories this monitor comes with? I guess it probably does not ship with a mini-DP to DP adapter, I'd probably have to get that in advance?

No it doesn't come with any adapters. Just a DP > DP cable so be ready.

It worked out of the box for me once I put the DP driver on. Make sure you load the inf file in the device manager, as Windows sometimes fails to override the default plug and play driver otherwise. The driver actually has no 60hz option at 1920x1080 (which is a good thing), only 120hz and 100hz. The converter doesn't use any drivers of its own, although its USB power plug was detected as a generic device.

Yes, hence the 2x HDMI inputs and no dual ink DVI or display port

Well I bit the bullet and ordered one of these. I'm going to have to modify my desk to allow me to set it lower, but it's worth it.

wow I'm so glad these are back in stock! 399.99 with free shipping and no tax.. what a steal!!

So since I have an nvidia card with no DP out I would be stuck @ 60hz? If so then I will just get a Dell 2412

Welcome to AMD driver SUCK. I couldn't get mine to work either so I spoke with an Altona Rep and he said AMD does not support the adapter. He said AMD cards are physically able to do it however AMD has not programmed compatibility with any drivers. Isn't that lovely

So after much research i came to the conclusion that running this through hdmi is going to limit me to 60hz.

The next question is will it be self defeating to buy this and run it @ 60hz? Is it that much of a difference than 120hz? Or am i better off getting an ips panel for gaming? I dont care about the 3d at all.

There is a big difference between 60hz and 120hz. Why don't you get the S27A950D or Asus VG278H? They both have a dual-link dvi port. If you go with a 23-24" you have even more 120hz options.

Only buy an IPS panel if you want a grainy and glowy gaming experience and feel the need to sit at weird angles while gaming.

I dont want to spend 700 bucks on a monitor....

What are some good 24" options? Anything in 1920x1280?

Finally placed my order, should arrive tomorrow. Hopefully no drama with dead pixels :(.

Amen to that. Has anyone had any problems with doing exchanges of these monitors with tigerdirect/compusa for dead pixel issues? I would assume not but given that their policy in the case of this model is exchange of defective models only I want to be sure that they aren't going to hit me with a 25% restocking fee if I have to exchange a monitor with one stuck pixel.

Amazon has it for $399 too. I may have to bite on this...I'd be upgrading from an my 20WMGX2 NEC AS-IPS...so this would be different...

thinking the same thing here , have the same setup . . . it might be a step down in clarity thought cuase of our pixel size

I've had mine for about a week now, love it so far. The glossy panel really puts my other monitors to shame. I think it's time for a second one to be purchased.

Hi,

I have 3D Monitor : LS27A750DS connected to PC via DisplayPort (DP) AMD HD Radeon 6770 Series GPU. I need detailed steps to configure to achieve the Stereo 3D 1080p@60Hz. Anybody please help?

Thank you

Yeah, I've been waiting a long time to upgrade. This is definitely in the right price range, and I game and watch movies/tv shows more than I do anything that requires the color accuracy that IPS provides. And pretty much every review has given the color output good remarks.

I'll be keeping my NEC around as a back-up anyway.

man same here to , this is definitely in a better price range than when i bought my monitor , 5 years ago at 700 dollars but man have i gotten my money worth , it has played games like a champ with the most minimal blur ive ever seen on a monitor , i wanted to go ACD , but it seems for the size you blu a bit and get less black than this monitor , but like you i game and watch movies so ill eye it a bit and make it look good , but every review has put it on spot with color accuracy . . . Im just hopping moving from such a nice small pixel pitch and small icons that this doesn't bother me much ;P , plus man im dieing for some screen size :)

Exactly, the screen size is really the biggest issue for me. Because if you want a superfast IPS monitor at 27" you have to shell out $1,000 probably. Since, that's basically half a new rig, I'm not willing to do that.

I'm excited about the 120 Hz for gaming and blu-rays, and the 3D will give me something to play with for the next 5 years hopefully!

So after reading through this entire topic I have yet to find a single post by someone who has said for certain that this monitor works perfectly with one of the gtx570s or 580s with displayport outputs. Does anyone have one of those cards and this monitor who can confirm that it works properly? I am a hardcore nvidia fan but I purchased this monitor based on the reviews linked here. I will upgrade my rig when I get my tax return and was planning to go for the asus GTX570 DirectCU II three slotter with twin fans and a full size displayport. Can anyone confirm that any displayport equipped current gen nvidia cards work well with this monitor at 120hz?

Vakharn, it should work fine. It's just the fact that most people complaining about their Nvidia cards not being compatible don't have those cards with the MDP/DP.

Grab a 7970 as an upgrade and you'll be all set though. Otherwise, grab an Active adapter, should be easy now because the 7970's come with them (I've seen a lot of people selling these for dirt cheap now).

I just ordered mine, I really hope I like it and get a good one... I just wanted to try the 120hz so damn bad :p
