Didn't see one of these yet. Lets use this to post links where 7970s are in stock.

Tempting, pre-order or wait for the 6GB pre-overclocked models.... decisions decisions...

This is the first time i'm attempting to buy a new video card on launch day. My last was an 8800 GTS 640 MB for around the same price. I hope they have plenty of stock.

Are you referring to the 7990 (3gb per gpu) or did you read somewhere that there would be a double capacity 7970? I'm interested cause 6gb would make for a good OpenCL rendering card.

Sapphire is making a 6 display port 6gb 7970.

Des anyone actually expect the 6gb versions to be avail at launch, or more likely a month or two down the road? I'm more interested in finding a 3dp+ version at some point to eliminate tearing, but I don't have high hopes for much other than reference cards to be available for some time.

No idea, find out on the 9th

As a side note, kind of happy we're only 1 day off being able to nerdily stay up hitting f5 on various sites waiting to drop cash. Only place I can voice this joy without getting weird looks

Thanks, appreciate it. Going to keep an eye on it and see if it comes down as we get closer to release.

Curious if major online vendors (newegg, tiger etc) will open the flood gates at midnight, or is it just going to be a random time that morning/day?

I'd be pre-ordering....waiting for the non-reference coolers.

Why do all their cards have to sound like shop vacs?

Pre-ordering from some of these just doesn't make me feel 100% comfortable - think I'll be happier to get it from one of the major vendors and just sit up a little late waiting for them. Not to mention there's always the (extremely) off chance that the rumored msrp drop is true and they'll actually sell for that - not a huge deal even if they did, but I wouldn't complain.

I could see ordering from Beachaudio, I would trust that and the price isn't too far over I guess since your in that ballpark already but anyone else, I wouldn't take a chance. Newegg, the 8th, 11pm, Midnight, the 9th, be there be ready to pick and chose and pay and don't f$%k about. You will have your card within a few days.

I'm not comfortable ordering from those guys, I'll stick to the major resellers like Amazon or Newegg. Never heard of Beach Audio.

The normal phone line hours at the egg are 0530-1730 PST.
I have no experience with release day practices, but I would be surprised if these are not listed at 2359 on the 8th, and then magically appear up for sale at 0001 on the 9th.

I would expect postings, etc later in the morning of the 9th, sometime after their people arrive for work.

My only experience was with the 4870 X2 GPU. I bought one on release day and it wasn't posted up until noon EST (0900 PST).:D

Lol, tell me about it. Nobody I know cares about graphics cards. I'm still going to take a wait and see attitude, but I'm excited that this is coming out!

Their price is still the same and showing "a few in stock" but like amazon other retailers can list on their site.

Ehh it's not even sold by Buy.com but " GizmosForLife " a third-party seller. Shady imo.

Yup, same here.

Here's the link to the card for anyone interested...

Lowest price from a reputable reseller I've seen so far.

Tempting but I'd really like to get my card next week. Provantage says shipment could take 1-3 weeks. I'll keep F5-ing on Newegg :p

you can also purchase from GizmosForLife through Amazon if you look at the 'More Buying Choices'. i've never personally bought with them, but the fact that they're on Amazon and have a 93% positive feedback score should be comforting. $572.63 + $61.00 shipping.....

Buy.com
That's cause they sold out their stock, they had 7 on eBay too but PayPal was down so couldn't complete transaction.

Provantage:
Pretty sure that's standard tag line for any special order. If it doesn't ship Monday will be canceling order.

Looking at their Amazon storefront they do not carry any other GPUs, so the fact they have a 7970 up for sale is rather fishy...

Also a 0/10 on Reseller ratings - http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Gizmos_For_Life

Call me skeptical, but I would not be surprised if they are just trying to make a quick buck off impatient people. They probably do not have the cards in hand and just plan on picking them up at a local store then shipping them out. Which means the chance of them not being able to secure enough cards is high. It's like eBay pre-orders. I'd avoid, personally.

Just called a local MicroCenter to see if they have them at the store and ready for sale Monday morning, the sales rep didn't have a clue on what an HD 7970 was :(

How the fuck not?! They should be fired, good lord!

Anybody find any of the 7970 Flex 6G's for preorder or any non-ref card that has 3 mini-DP?
