Saw this floating around the rumor mill yesterday night... been waiting for this phone for ages and I'm glad I could get it under $200. I put my order in roughly 4 hours ago and it's still in the carrier approval stage, though I suspect there isn't much approving going on until businesses open.

The only thing I'm worried about is grandfathering my old contract over with unlimited data. If that worked for you I'd like to know. Otherwise I'm going to the verizon store to make sure.

Yeah, it let my keep my existing data plan. There was a specific warning that if I changed it I would be unable to go back. My order is also still in the "Carrier Approval" status.

I'm in the same boat. I'll keep checking back to see if anyone has an answer for this.

Also, if work slows down a bit I'll start digging around to see if I can find this out on other sites and post back.

How does it work if you're upgrading from unlimited 3G? Do you get unlimited 4G? Or does the double data promo apply?

info on keeping unlimited data

from letstalk fb page...
Letstalk ‎@allan here is your way to get around it and keep your unlimited plan. After you select your phone and plan you will get to the data packages page. On that page it will have the 4g plan selected but if your upgrading you can select the "0.00" plan for "upgrades only" that way you should be able to keep your same plan without losing you unlimited minutes. :)

i looked at their comments and they seem to be saying that if you're grandfathered, you'll be able to keep you unlimited data plan if you select the "0.00" plan.
IF you have to change any of the features on the phone, add or delete within the first 181 days you have to do it through Letstalk.... Its in the fine print when you click the view discounts line in your cart.

The Final price of $155 or $175 won't be reflected UNTIL you are close to the final checkout screen. This is assuming you are using the coupon ofc.

Taken directly from slickdeals...I'm going to be talking with Verizon in a few hours about the upgrade from 3G to LTE being automatic and free even if it's through a 3rd party.

$199 at Amazon (now on backorder).

Been following this phone for a while but still not convinced it's good enough to make me ditch iPhone 4S. Need to read more reviews.

I ordered 2 this morning. May need to change to this place if they have some in stock.

They are showing backordered now. My status still hasn't updated but I am unsure if they will do that as an end-of-day batch or not.

They will ship it tomorrow according to other forums, you will likely get it monday.

Balls. :(

UPDATE: I sent an e-mail in asking for delivery clarification so I could ensure to be home. Here is the rather unhelpful response.

Thank you for your recent email. Your order status is (Handset Upgrade Eligibility Request). A carrier approval can take up to 24-48 hours. The phone is currently on backorder until next week. If you need any further assistance, please contact our customer service department at 1-877-825-5460.

Been following this phone for a while but still not convinced it's good enough to make me ditch iPhone 4S. Need to read more reviews.

Here's the breakdown from my point of view:

The 4S has a denser screen than the GNex. The GNex screen is bigger and has a higher resolution (720p). Basically, you can pick the most dense screen (4S) in a small package...or the 2nd most dense screen in a big package (GNex). As far as quality of the screens like contrast it's pretty much a tie IMO. The 4S screen isn't as bright but has slightly better contrast...both are very good screens, just depends on what you want.

The 4S has the best camera out (save some Nokia phones out there). The GNex's camera is still good...but the 4S shutter is very nice.

About everything else is a tie or OS preference. I like Android 4.0 a lot and it's quite similar to iOS (by far the closest android version to iOS in feel/function).

I would pick based on either the screen or camera. If you want to take very good pictures but don't have a good camera then the 4S is a good pick...Otherwise I'd say get the GNex.

Mine was $275 after tax at Verizon...I don't like paying an extra $100 but I didn't want to wait for the phone have to deal with the possibility of it not upgrading properly

FYI, I trust the site to work things out but my situation is a bit odd...I'm on a family plan and my brother is trading me upgrades...I get his from 7/1/11 and he gets mine for 5/1/12...Verizon's site refuses to acknowledge that I switched the upgrade to my account now and the store rep told me the same thing as the website so I had them switch it for me when I bought it.

Letstalk is a terrible company. I ordered last night at like their midnight 15 pretty much as soon as their page said it's available. I called today to check status after being stuck in "carrier approval" last night and had to go somewhere else after waiting on hold for 30 minutes. I get home to an email saying i'm back ordered with no date for expected. I call and finally get through and they said they should get in more phones by the end of next week.... yea screw you too. So I canceled and picked it up in store at Verizon. Screw letstalk, they were horrible to work with and I would avoid at all costs.

On the plus side the nexus is amazing and they surprised rolled out 4g in my area so i'm a happy camper.

An update from my end: the order status has been updated and shows that it will be back in stock on the 19th. Because I don't have tons of money, I've decided to just wait it out and get the cheaper price.

I also don't believe the company is terrible, I called their customer service line after normal business hours and was just on hold for almost 10 minutes... less than ideal... but their recording initially gave some info on the matter. By email they have been responsive, and they changed my shipping address (after today I'm no longer where I expected it to ship to) and though the charge showed up on my CC bill, they've said that it is an authorization for payment, not an actual charge, and it properly won't be charged until the item ships.

I really don't like that I have to wait even longer for this damn phone... but it does seem like they're working on it and I did like the price.
