I've asked this here before, but never got an answer so I'll try again...

What are the desk surface mounting heights for the Fredrik desk?

edit: Scratch that. Picking up a Jerker tomorrow! Will post pics as soon as I get it set up.

I'm interested in buying the Galant desk with the glass table top but just realized that the Signum is not compatible with glass table tops. Wondering if anyone can provide me with another alternative for managing cables (doesn't have to be Ikea).

Thanks!

To Galant owners
How stable are the galant desks? A-leg or T-leg?

I've had my corner Galant for about 3 years now and I love it. It is the T-Leg so I can't speak for the A-Leg, but I can stand on this thing without a problem. Since it is a corner desk, it has 3 legs so a rectangular Galant (2 Legs) might differ in stability.

Legendary.

Indeed. I'm still in disbelief that I actually own a Jerker, especially with the extra pieces. It's a big step up from a cheap particle board desk from my college days.

Nice clean setup feetus, like it :)

Thanks! I just picked up a third side shelf off craigslist just for the hell of it. Couldn't pass up a rare item. Now I just need to find a use for it. Maybe a cat lounge...

LOL, thank god it isn't. I used to use a plastic tube duct-taped to that part of the desk for cable management. That's just some residue left over.

I have done some reorganization and found a happy balance now I think :)

Basically combined my setups that were previously across two desks... center monitor has inputs from both the work laptop and desktop so I can switch depending on what I'm working on. Controlling both systems with Input Director.

The question is how many you got charged for ...

I already checked. Only one. I think someone in the warehouse just accidentally grabbed two. Each one was wrapped in plastic and they fit together when stacked so two of them could easily be mistaken for one.

Fixed. :D
They look like Ikea shelves that have been a little re-purposed.

Yeah I know, but I need link please if someone knows, because IKEA has thousands of them, and I'm searching for a while now, and I still can't found them... :/

They're no longer online, but they still may be in some stores.

They're the Lack Zig-Zag wall shelves. :)

Thats bad! :/// Are they non-online long time now?

I honestly couldn't tell you... I couldn't find them on the Ikea website, so after a little bit of Googling "Lack Zig-Zag" it seems they're no longer available online.

I haven't been to my local store in a while, so I also couldn't tell you if they're still available there or not. They may have been discontinued. :(

Hi all.

I've been eyeing this thread for a little while now. Having had two Ikea JERKER desks (now one which my fiancée has), I've decided to pickup a Galant. I'm actually heading out in just a short while to pickup all the parts. Out of curiosity, if I were to purchase a right corner galant and have the large rectangular extensions (2 of them) added on, do I need any additional legs? Or am I fine with just purchasing the three legs as shown in pictures?

I just want to make sure this table is going to hold up well as it'll have a lot of equipment on it.

Thanks in advance! Perhaps I'll put up pictures later this evening after it's all setup!

Not sure about "large" rectangular extensions (I think there's only one size available), but you should be fine with just 3 legs, if you're adding extensions on the different ends of the corner piece.

I love my Fredrik so far, I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

This fredrik is nice if u are using personal computer with PS3/X360, because you can put monitor and PS3/X360 on a 1st shelf and store games etc. on a 2nd shelf.
It's not nice if u are using just laptop, thats why I chosen this table. ;)

I bought the standard Fredrik because I have my PS3 and 360 hooked up to my tv, the Fredrik is just for my PC.

Thanks for the heads-up cyberkost. I was all over the place this morning and must've neglected to mention I was adding two of the rectangular extensions to the side that measures about 32" deep and then another rectangular extension to the opposite end.

Needless to say, I went ahead with it... It seems to hold up so far (granted I haven't had the change to set everything up yet). I'm tired and aching from setting it all up because I was in a bit of a space crunch and ended up building the frame first, then set the tabletop above while piecing the remainder together underneath.

Anywho, I'm hoping to get things squared away more tomorrow and pictures will soon follow.

This past Sunday I went to Phoenix to go see the Cardinals vs 49ers. I went to Ikea and picked up a galant desk.
