only kidding. its cool that your missus likes gaming. wished my missus liked it too

Agreed. Mine just gets all 'eye-rolly' and 'Fine, if that's what you would rather do'. 'Cause Lord knows I would much rather watch Oprah's Life Class

And I thought I had it bad! Well played, Sir.

One question... Is there a heat sink for your CPU? I'm not seeing it in your added pic. Don't think I see a CPU as well...

Other wise good job finding some one who plays games.

Yeah, it has a big ass Zalman, I need to take an updated pic. That was an old shot before I got my CPU installed, and before I replaced my power supply as well. I'll post one up later that's updated.

OK, I was just wondering. It looked a little bare in there. Truly congrats though on the wife willing to play BF3.

Man, this is best wife I have ever heard about. Never let her go away. She is so amazing.

My wife wants to throw my pc in the dumpster.

p.s. help

Ouch, I don't think there's any hope turning her into a gamer lol.

I too lucked out and ended up with a gamer wife. Haven't gotten her into FPS games but Wow and Titanquest and the diablos are some of her Favorites.

I think she's more excited about Diablo 3 than I am lol.

Bitches be crazy!!

lolz, Oprah life classes... yea, I sneak off for some BF3..

MikeTrike - Do you have a dual desk setup or something? I've been wanted to get a nice little dual station setup from the commercial officemax lineup so my wife and I can game in the same room.

Might be tough though lol. she's quite comfortable on the sofa with her laptop.

Both of our desk's are side-by-side in the same room. only about five feet separate us at any given time throughout the day while in the office. :)

I'm not sure what it is about women, that think it's a good idea to listen to other people on what you should do/say/act/how to live your life/etc.

Yeah, I'm not cool with Oprah and her guests attempting to advise others how they should be. It seems to get in the way of gaming. Hell, I'm livin' the dream replaying Borderlands right now!

Haha, this thread was an inspiration! I brought your thread up with my girlfriend and said "His wife plays games with him! Why don't you?" This got her to want to join in on starting to play Titan Quest with me, which happens to be on sale for $10 for the Gold package on Steam. ;)

Can't wait for Torchlight 2 and possibly Diablo 3 to come out now. Maybe one day, we will build up to BF3. :D

Thanks Mike! ;)

Parts start arriving on Wednesday, I should have everything to build it completely by Thursday hopefully.

I can't wait!

I cannot believe the most important question hasn't been asked here yet...

PICS of WIFE?

Try Borderlands and L4D co-op too -- she can play Lilith and Zoey, and they're tastefully presented.

I think the lack of playable female leads might be a turn off to some female gamers. To be honest though, I don't necessarily care that much if I can't play a female character, and I actually tend to play male characters more, for the same reason some guys like to play female characters (eye candy, and yes it works both ways).

The reason guys play female characters because then they get to stare at their butts throughout the entire game.

She has LFD2, she likes pretty much anything with killing zombies. I just grabbed Dead Island for her as well. :)

I got my wife to play BC2 once. I left the office for about 20 min before I heard her screaming "stop killing me so fast!". She hasn't touched a fps since.

My wife is familiar with learning curves, as she plays music and understands that "instant gratification" is not how things generally are.

I can't get my gf to play any first person games. She somehow feels disoriented in first person and keeps sticking to third person games like S4 (I tried it once for her sake... I think it's one of the worst games I've ever played). She doesn't like playing anything by herself so games like Skyrim are out the window. She also hates Zombies and freezes up / gets too scared... our L4D2 sessions are her whimpering and hiding in a corner. One thing she has been playing with me a lot is custom games in SC2.

Jamie started off with Minecraft, since it was a fun game where she could be creative; she stuck with it. Overcame the disorienting feeling that she would get, that was her "gateway game" for more serious games.

my wife's ADD has gotten so bad that L4D isn't instantly gratifying enough for her anymore. It's so bad she has to watch Oprah in FastForward while watching youtube at the same time.

Getting her to wait 30 seconds for a BF3 match to start not going to happen.

I can see how that would be a big issue in other areas, as well.

My girlfriend plays tons of games and is always dieing to play games with me. We recently played Portal 2, Magicka, etc. She played WoW for about 2-3 years too. It's all about getting involved with them :)

SWTOR is coming out, I've convinced her to play with me. BF3 ... not so much yet. She is not much of a twitch player and a lot of FPSs are like that to her. She watches me play Q3 Live and immediately walks away to play Skyward Sword or Skyrim. She associates FPS with twitchiness. It's like an instant "NEWP"

Edit: I texted her about this thread and told her I am lucky to have a girl who plays games. She replies, "I am playing Zelda right now lol :)"
