Post your "rate my cables" here

Awesome little system, IIRC you posted it elsewhere but what are the specs of this?

Jesus. It's been so long since I've seen that. Awesome. Reminds me of the good ole days.

Thank you. I have passed her on to someone else who I know will enjoy her. I had that case from 2004 through this summer though, and it was incredibly advanced for its time. Nobody else had rubber anti-vibration mounts, and it certainly was one of the first with slide-out drive racks. It just needed one more fan mount to improve it, so I took care of that.

Meanwhile, I had quirks with my current Asrock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 mainboard, and Asrock support was no help, so I returned it (Thanks, NewEgg, for being understanding). I put a Gigabyte board in instead, but I have a policy of renaming my systems when I do a change that big, so The Black Pearl was retired.

In keeping with the theme (and my ancestry), meet "The Flying Dutchman".

Not up to the standards of everyone in this thread, but this is my first attempt at doing cable management. Not the greatest but airflow should be decent I suppose, the rubber grommets kept coming out whenever I tried to put cables through.

edit: sorry about the big pics...

Not bad. The backside is always a mess. Except for those few that have a knack for it.

Not bad at all. Suggestions:

Sleeve the CPU fan cable to match the black of your case. Do the same with that 5.25" to 3.5" power adapter cable. Consider using a flat black permanent marker (ghetto, but it it can look good when done properly) to darken the white 5.25" Molex and 3.5" floppy connectors of that adapter.

If you have space, route the audio header cable behind the power supply, rather than in front of it, which will hide it fairly effectively and make things look neater.

You've got a great start --just a couple finishing touches should really round that out.

just started bak on my 9month project, still in progress though. just seeing what people think?

@lillimon04

Well i have change to a i7 system with a H50, it's stays around 40 degres idle, with a i7 930 clock to 3.15Ghz

My next mod is a Mac pro case.

I'm also doing a budget build for my parents using some spare parts I have laying about. I will have to do some cable management and post it on here.

I would love to see it! It's nice working in a smaller case with minimal parts.

That is a clean CM elite 341.

Thanks! I really like that case for cheaper builds. It's small, but plenty of room to work and get things tidy.

Looks like The Hulk's computer. lol I see that you have a prominently displayed harness running across the front of the motherboard. That needs to go away. It looks really busy in there.

Rebuilt my rig recently. Here is the result.

Wow, that looks great. Very clean

9.5/10 if you can tighten up those bottom cables and the cpu cooler cable.

edit: I give it 9.5 now, but 10/10 if cleaned up a bit.

I might do that, although i kinda like those cables bit loose so people can actually see that they re fully sleeved
:)

Thank you! The cooler is scythe big shuriken with Enermax Vegas 120mm fan instead of preinstalled skinny one.

Wow that picture of the red cpu cooler is really cool. I am not a big fan of the red theme as I like the color blue more but that is a sick setup.

Small budget box I built for my parents.

Nice job. I wanted to use a CM Elite 341 for my SO's build, but no-one has them in stock. After ordering one and waiting a week to find it was backordered (vendor storefront at Amazon said they had five) and only finding out because I contacted the seller after getting no tracking number, I just ordered a Lian Li for the SO.

I wonder what's up with the supply on that case, or if CM is discontinuing what is arguably the best mATX case in the $50 range. That'd make no sense to me unless they were replacing it with a USB3-capable model.
