Wow, that is pretty damn cheap. Awesome find.

$403 shipped for me. $400 for a six-core budget pc w/ Win 7 key.... hard to beat, hard to beat.

That could be a great budget gamer PC for sure (of course swapping parts/reselling stuff).... or 10+ year lasting computer for 90% of today's PC buyers... like your grandma or the average college kid who only uses PC for porn/chatting/homework/music/youtube. This would last normal "nontech'' internet users for life.

Would probably need to switch out the 300W psu for any video card upgrade. Definitely a good price though.

Swap out the PSU and stick a nice GPU. You got yourself a nice rig for relatively cheap!

geez. at that price you can probably resell that as is and still make money.

AND... a $40 MIR from the looks of it

capturefen.png

ecost = $404 shipped (for me)
Onsale = $405 shipped

Question is the MIR. Looking to be about $365 after rebate (Including shipping).

Not to thread crap, but you could absolutely build this PC for the price, cheaper even, brand new. Just priced it out... The only thing it has going for it is the win 7 cd key. If you are a student, that is negligible since it is only $30.

1075T - $149.99
6450 - $39.99
1.5Tb 5400 rpm - $49.99
8Gb ddr3 1333 - $39.99
300W psu - $19.99
785G Mobo - $64.99
Win 7 Prof. 64 Bit CD Key - $30 (Student) or Home Premium for non students ($119.99)

$394.94 Shipped ( all items are free shipping ) vs refurb hp @ $405 shipped.
Find a crappy case to throw it in, no big deal.

$484.94 for u non students :p

For those that aren't students though or don't know a student, I would say midly good pick up. I still wouldn't touch this deal, I avoid premade PCs like they are the plague. :D

Good point, but its already there, working, and that saves you 2+ hours(3-4 hours if you're not techy) of labor installing crap together.

But you're right, I didn't think it could be built this cheap... but you broke it down good llama!

I fall into the $485 camp. $353 is signifcantly cheaper.

Kind of tempting, just throw in a new PSU and video card and you'd be set. The case is terrible though, and it's probably got so much garbage on the pre-installed Windows 7 it would be a turnoff. Not to mention HP plastered everywhere.

By the way, it says max supported ram is 16gb, they have 8gb in it, not a big deal in and of itself, but the configuration is 4x2gb. wtf?

Still a good deal imo

Sell PSU - $20 shipped.

Sell video card - $30 shipped (maybe)

That gives you $50 extra bucks about, to buy 2 better parts for this "budget gamer". And yeah, I'd probably have issues with the small case,so you might as well get a case while you're at it. You can always save it, or slap together a cheapo PC to resell on craigslist.

Still... great deal for anyone non-tech looking to buy a PC. This puts anything sold at Best Buy or OfficeMax to complete shame in terms of "bang for buck"

Definitely a threadcrap. No case, no keyboard, no mouse, no optical, no wifi, AND you need a student discounted OS to stay under price?

@ 4x2gb RAM: Who cares? Anybody buying this really need more than 8gb of ram??

Great price, Hot Deal, in for 1 for my niece to replace her galaxy tab, she's ready to upgrade.

Not to mention the time building it...

This is not that good of a deal, i can build a better system with an i5 2400 for less, with better parts as well.

the video card would be a good back up or maybe you could get 25 bucks or so for it.

nobody would pay 20 bucks for that psu though. its a crappy oem unit and not even worth 10 bucks IMO. and the cost of shipping would eat about half that even if someone was silly enough to pay 20 bucks for it.

he probably could if he has a Microcenter nearby.

I'd be more worried about why it was refurbed in the first place.
yeah if he could do a great microcenter deal and get a $30 student price for Windows then yes he could get pretty close. that however is not realistic for hardly anybody on here.

I would easily offer $20 shipped for an unused cheapy PS. Reason I would for sure, is to resell for profit into a burnt out PS on one of my clients' (usually prebuilt compaq/hp/acer desktops)

And you can ship it for $5 in the preshaped one-rate boxes via USPS... I know I know, but its cheap.

Yea, prolly not...an amd 6 core system for sure given time looking for deals, but not an intel anything.

I'm guessing the psu and mb on this are stuff hp made yes? Given hp sucks at making anything, other ppl are complaining about the hour or two to build there own...I'd rather spend that hour or two to build my own reliable system then buy an hp product and deal with an hp csr when it break...pay money to send it in, and get it back whenever they feel like fixing it. How long will that take?

This is a hell of a lot of computer for cheap. Even as a refurb its a good deal. I just upgraded though and so did the rest of my family so I can't even vaugely justify spending money on this dammit.

I was in checkout and almost bit... shipping + tax made it just slightly not quite sweet enuff for me.

A good deal for sure.

Advised a friend for whom i was going to build a budget gaming rig to buy. He just ordered.

His budget was around $600 and i figure he should be able to get a decent psu and gpu now. My only reservation is the slower mhz on the 1045... any way to flash and oc this sucker?

OC on that motherboard is highly unlikely (I'm assuming).

He might be able to use AMD overdrive to overclock. Or ClockGen or whatever its called these days.
