Max Payne 3 Trailer

First thing I said was Hey he's not bald!..and then Oh shit, lol. It should be good. There's something about those sounds that become permanently engraved in your mind. Makes this one seem so familiar already.
 
So not amused. Why even call it Max Payne. Completely out of character, has nothing to do with the original. Literally somebody starting making this and then decided to call it Max Payne.

looks fine to me, every thing rock star has made in the past have been good to great games glad they got this ip

Red Dead Redemption is awesome. I still play the hell out of it. That GOTY version coming out in October needs to come to the PC.


RDR gives me confidence that this probably won't suck.

Thank you sir, I COMPLETELY agree with you. Max Payne 1 & 2 were both masterpieces and had amazing stories, gameplay, and music...I actually felt his pain in the game.

This is just gonna be another money-grab game that will fade away 4 months after it's released.

I am dissapoint :(
 
I would hardly call this game a cash grab. It's not like they're shoveling out Max Payne games every year like some other titles that shall remain nameless. What has It been over 8 years?

They're using a franchise that was popular/had a good name in the past and are molding it to appeal to the console kiddies. I don't believe Sam Lake is even participating in the development of this game.

I'd definitely call it a cash grab.
 
No Noir. No Killer Suits.No buy. Sorry Rockstar the change is just too drastic.

Original Creators of Max - Remedy weren't even credited in titles, this pure money grab, looks like dumb FPS with slightly improved GTA IV engine... KTHXBYE

I agree with the both of you. This and SS3 were the only two titles that I hoped no one would screw up. So much for that.

Guess this will come free with an new Nvidia card.
 
Don't believe the hate is focused on game play (which is not known) but more on the lines of a character change and setting.

No hate, just making observations. There was no noir to be seen, and the cutscene sequences were cutscenes, not art panels. If Rockstar plans on showing it off, they'd be wise to assuage any doubts in their marketing materials.

It's not, I should have been more specific. It may succeed on it's own merits it's 50/50, but it really does just look like Army of two or Kane and Lynch with Max Payne pasted in. I'm willing to bet "GRITTY" is going to be on every splash ad for the game.

Max Payne had great gunplay ahead of it's time, but Bullet time is pretty standard now. What Max Payne really had was a very dark but believable noir story. You really felt what Max was going through and the reasons for doing what he did felt very real.

This game just seems like a typical action game to me. If it's good GREAT, but calling it Max Payne is already insulting just from seeing the trailer.

Go play Alan Wake and then try to say you want Remedy in charge of Max Payne 3.

Remedy has no idea what good gameplay is anymore.
 
Wow! I am not impressed at all. Max Payne 1/2 were amazing games with great stories.
 
This one is definitely NOT on my pre-order list. Will take exceptional reviews or a good sale to get me to buy this.

Wtf are you talking about? Alan Wake I thought was a great game, and like both Max Payne games it had EXCELLENT atmosphere, some of the best in a game.

gameplay wasn't meant to be like Max Payne in Alan Wake, it wasn't an action game or meant to be one like their previous games.

I do want Remedy to make it, obviously it's not gonna happen, but they know the world the character, and both games nailed that noir atmosphere which the third one seems to be missing completely off the mark.

It takes more then having "shadows" to make something Noir, and from all the pics, and trailer, etc it seems there's just no more noire atmosphere to it from what we've seen.

I'm still holding out for the final game will be good, but this trailer makes story line so far look awful and has drastically lowered my expectations on the game!

NOW, is that better politically correct wording?
 
Small side note though, anyone recently replayed the originals? It is hilariously awful. I can't do it. I am normally okay with old games, but I just can't replay these, especially the first one lmao.
Regarding how he looked then (above) and now, I definitely miss his 90's styling lol.
 
It barely feels like noire. Taking Max out of the environment in which I'm used to seeing him, he sounds whiny. I didn't sense any of the pain I felt in Max Payne 1 and 2. Hopefully we'll get another trailer featuring a detailed character introduction that sets the record straight. This trailer didn't look like Max Payne. It looked like a Mercenaries 2 expansion.

Im sorry, but this might as well be some kind of Call of Juarez, Kane n Lynch, or even Splinter Cell game.
Typical console friendly graphics, typical action hero setup.

The minute I heard that Max Payne theme music, it was like a wave of nostalgia swept over me. Damn I miss that music......

I just hope that they adjust the difficulty level a bit as both MP1 and 2 were really hard. I loved every minute of it, but sometimes you just want to go run and gun without any serious consequences.

BTW, anyone know how to get the cheat codes working in MP2? The steam version apparantly took it out and I want to do a run and gun replay now that i'm in the MP mood again.
