Gauging interest for motherboard trays for benchers

ugh, this wait is killin me.. By the time Spots is ready for the next round of these, ill have enough BTC to buy a triple stack and fully stock it, lol

ITT: Hand crafted bench trays full of awesome and win. I don't have much need for one and yet I find myself wanting a half dozen of them. :p

This is awesome!!!
Just wanted to double check, the standard ATX holes will fit matx mobos right? For those of us who wanna use matx mobos? I'll keep an eye on this cuz I can picture a need for half a dozen of these in a matx/atx format...

Would love to see a smaller minitx version to take up as little space as possible for a minitx cluster... but thats much later once uve finished a couple more batches like this... :-D

Yeah, MATX uses the same holes at ATX, at least on the outer edge
In the center of the board, there are sometimes 2 extra mount holes, but are not necessary

Ministack would be kinda enat, but the size difference would be minimal.. Might as well keep it as a full ATX in case of need to repurpose.

Holes R and S are the only difference between MATX and ATX, they are added for extra support on mATX

Adding a few extra holes or even reducing the size of the tray a bit wouldn't be a problem. :D

Lol yeah, I'll think about this and figure out how I can roll this out... Got to do the numbers on a mini matx cluster... And figure out where to house this... Low on shelf space in my basement lab... Hr mm and cooling.. :) might take me a couple months to figure out and clean up the room...

You could always take the rush option and get priority for $10 extra :-p I'm sure he could "prioritize" ur order first :-p

Well at least thanks to your review our gpu power cables should fit better. :). I guess i wont be too upset if you get yours first lol

I've been looking for something like this for quad socket G34 SWTX boards. Are you planning to make additional units for the SWTX form factor? I am interested in buying one from you if so. Thanks.

Support for SWTX boards shouldn't be too much trouble. I have a drawing of the SWTX standoff locations, but I'm not sure how accurate it is.

It is now possible to get a top for these trays:

sweet.. Exactly what I thought my lid would look like..

How sturdy will that top be? Any estimate on how much weight it'll hold until it bows? Max 30lbs is what im looking for. Jsut enough for a couple monitors, some extra storage for cables, and some canned air.

Oohhhh man a monitor stand! Genius! I might have to order the parts for just a top once spotswood catches up to the backlog :)

I don't think there's any chance of that top bowing. :D

Didnt know how thick you decided to make it..
Yeah, may fatass could stand in the middle of my case and be fine, but didnt know if you wanted to make the tops thiner :D

I'm going to be real sad when my cases dont show up until bitcoin has become unprofitable lol.

The available accessories for these are:
  • Ball end Torx T25 screwdriver
  • End caps
  • Casters

A simple ball end Torx L-key is included with a tray, but the driver is a lot easier on the hands.

The end caps make these trays look classy(er). :D Too bad I didn't have enough on hand to also put them on the posts.

I could just be weird but I think it looks cooler without caps.

Does that assembled case mean some may be shipping out soon :D?

Dammit Spots.. Now I need a set of casters and enough black caps for a quad stack, lol
