Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple

The lack of human compassion is absolutely appalling. I'm sure if someone you knew was in bad, and possibly dying, you wouldn't be elated and wished them good-f****ing-bye. He's a person with a family for crying out loud.
Besides that he's amounted to more than everyone here put together. You may hate Apple but Jobs is a business genius and if you disagree you're lying to yourself.
But most importantly it really saddens me to see such indifference to a fellow human being. It's sick really.

You're not talking about the same guy who doesn't give a damn about working conditions of their contractors, right? those workers also have families, only they can't afford medical care...

Don't misunderstand me, I agree with you wishing this change helps him recover, but his "business genius" is only about money, not ethics.

But who knows? perhaps from now on he follow's Gates' lead and start working on charity, that'd be a great example for all apple fanboys, seriously. :)

(hope I made myself clear, english ain't my first language)

This is a day I've been waiting for. I don't like anything about the pretentious Apple attitude he has created.

Yeah, that's my thoughts as well. If they don't like Apple, fine, if they don't like Steve Jobs, fine, but to actually claim to be happy about somebody else's health problems - what a bunch of aholes.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheering that a guy fighting pancreatic Cancer is too sick to continue his job.

I have seen this news on several sites but [H] posters really sink to new depths of low class.

He's a person with a family for crying out loud.

Sucks for his family, I guess.

Besides that he's amounted to more than everyone here put together.

The measure of a man isn't his wallet. If all you care about is the selfish greedy pursuit of money extracted through the backs of others without concern for their misery, then you aren't a man, you're a greedy a-hole.

But most importantly it really saddens me to see such indifference to a fellow human being. It's sick really.

Oh, you mean like how Apple's contractors treat their employees? Why should I give a crap about Jobs? He's a horrible person. I'm saddened at the loss of truly great people, or even just average people (they're just cogs in the machine). With great power comes great responsibility. I'll be sad to see Gates go, yeah he's ultra rich even with giving boatloads of money away, but he wasn't just some greedy prick, he genuinely cares and tries to make a difference. It's not even about money either, Jobs could do a lot without donating a dime. He's a "star" in terms of pop culture. Just doing a few things like getting behind a cause, or some charity speeches or whatever, would make a difference.

He's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out!

Oh, sorry. That's next week.

Steve and Kyle. You guys must be proud of the real class displayed here.

exactly my point, in better english.

Im missing something here, or maybe Im just ignorant? why is Steve Jobs so popular? I mean when he "made" the iPhone... what exactly did he do?

Whatever, the guy was a greedy fucking mental control freak. He did a lot of just straight fucked up stuff in his time. He won't be missed.

You could say he innovated the mobile phone market to think in a different direction & also helped apple become a front-runner in marketing.

We're only halfway there.

He's quit work, now if only he'll quit life.

"“Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.”

Whether you like Steve Jobs or not, I have seen so much infantile cheering in this thread that it's disgusting. The man is dying of cancer, for God's sake.

It's not like he's walked around his whole life kicking puppies, or stealing old ladies' welfare checks. The guy just happens to have run a successful company that markets products that a number of people don't like.

Comments like the above disgust me. He's not the Second Coming, but he's also nothing less than a human being, and to devalue life like that really bothers the $#!@ out of me.

Never kick an ill man when he is down so I hope he gets better, but I have no love for apple the company so lets the stocks drop!

thats what im saying.. the iPhone..... doesnt mean hes the ONLY engineer who worked on the iPhone. or is he the only one?

I don't like Apple or Apple products at all, but I second this post.

wow, so much nerd rage in this thread.... though I guess its always easy to hate #1, I really didnt think the penis envy of Apple among the PC crowd had gotten so bad...

If you think that's all he's "guilty" of you don't know very much about the guy. I think by anyone's standards the guy can be considered a massive fucking prick.

So, that justifies cheering for him to die, eh?

I know many people who many consider to be "massive fucking pricks". That doesn't mean I think they should die.

When did being a "massive fucking prick" become a capital crime in the USA? I want to know, because I think there's a heck of a lot of people we can put up against the wall for that one, including anyone here that is hoping he will die. (Note: For all who do not understand, yes, this is HYPERBOLE, meant to make a point)

You trying wishing a massive prick well when it's shoved up your ass.

I'm sure that's exactly what Stevie did. So, have you pressed charges yet?

My comments aren't about wishing someone well. They're about the sanctity of human life.

Seriously, have we devolved so much as a species that cheering the death of someone in this manner is not only okay, but praised by others? Sure doesn't sound like a world I'd want to live in. There's plenty of things I don't care for when it comes to Jobs --but wishing him death turns the wisher into an animal themselves.

Pointing out the flaws in others is an easy way to avoid dealing with one's own.

Randal: I hope it feels good.

Customer: You hope what feels good?

Randal: I hope it feels so good to be right. There is nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

"No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
