If you feel strongly about onsale's ethic, feel free to share

For me canceling the order is fine, but takes them 3 days of keeping the money and keep everyone on the loop is just bad business.

I've heard from a few people it's a practice a lot of business do now, so they can collect interest on your money for a few days before returning it. Think about some of the larger companies that do things like this, that interest adds up fast.

Just got my touchpad from BestBuy via UPS. Standard shipping! 2 days! Awesome. this thing is pretty cool

Give them a few days to sort through unprecedented demand, sheesh.

That's nonsense, in this day and age there is no reason for a modern internet business to (probably) sell 100k+ more inventory than they actually had. They single handily cost thousands of us a chance to get one and I sure as hell am going to write a complaint to the BBB.

I wouldn't be surprised if places like Bestbuy/Walmart aren't negotiating behind doors deals with HP to buy up remaining stock, they would make great lost leaders for Black Friday.

our only real hope at this point is Woot! getting a hold of a few crates.

Well to update where I'm at. SMB just canceled my order. I wasn't holding much hope in it anyways since I ordered so late in the game. When they come back into hp I might try again. I think I'll just pre-order MW3 and buy Deus Ex :D

My order is cancelled on HP SMB, but I just got an email saying its confirmed.

Edit: Just checked the order page again and it said its confirmed! I hope I get mine!! :)

The question is, if you were one of the few that had gotten one from OnSale, would you still be writing this if the majority of other people didn't get one?

I bet you that most of the people that got them have zero complaints.

Just sayin'...

My 6 arrived today. They'll be on eBay soon for any of you who missed out.

Why waste valuable money paying ebay and paypal fees to sell on there. The guys here at [H] would probably grab all of them up in a few minutes. Plus you won't have to pay ebay their 10%.

Do people really not understand the diffrence between Temporary Authorizations, and something that has actually posted to your card?

If this second batch doesn't pan out, I will be in the market for one assuming that the prices are being jacked up too high.

Meh... I'm ok. It was basically going to be a toy, nothing I can't live without. Definitely not going to go out and buy off Ebay or anywhere else for more than cost + shipping on a unit.

I'm also okay with how it was handled on OnSale's side. Sure, it would have been nice to have them update my Amazon details, but they go to so overwhelmed I'm not surprised. My account got a pre-authorization charge from both Barnes and Noble and Amazon, but a pre-auth isn't the same as a real charge, so it's not like my money is being held ransom by the companies. I'm sure they will fall off in a week or so and the money is still there...

I understand the difference pretty clearly, and when a merchant authorizes funds on my card it shows as an authorization and does not affect my balance. However, Barnes & Noble actually CHARGED my card. It has already cleared. And they cancelled me 10 hours after I ordered and stated that I WOULDN'T be charged and money would be returned to me based upon my bank's policy. To me, that is pretty unacceptable practice. Money still isn't back in my account.

Also, just spoke with another local Best Buy (I have 4 within about a 30 min drive), and the manager on the floor confirmed that they DID receive 10 of them today, but would not be selling them until Sunday morning as part of an advertised sale. He wouldn't budge and wouldn't let me buy one.

We need to setup an [H] truce on these gougers..

My order with HP was OK, and Ill get my 2x32GB
My order with onSale got cancelled for 2x 16GB..

I still need 2x 16gb but I plan on ordering 4 now.. If I get all 4 16's, ill sell 2 here completely ungouged..

The Evil Juggalo [H] Promise

[H] truce on gouging? My ass. Every single "slick deal" type product that happens ends up getting gouged here by fags worse than eBay or CL. The TripleFi 10's come to mind. I would rather spend the money on an Ipad 2 than give some dbag here the satisfaction of thinking he's a baller for making some chump change.

When did you place your order? How many did you order?

If you have extra, get some enjoyment by hooking your friends up.. At least then you have piece of mind knowing that after you extended the same non marked up price that the person is not just going to turn around and sell it for a profit.

There is one guy here at work that I will not sell one to because he's just that type of guy who would give me the $99 dollors turn around and be like HP Touchpad for $175.. I'm selling them to people who are at least going to get some enjoyment out of them and actually use them. Crap these tablets are probably better then their home PC's.

Strange things happening. I received an email from SMB stating that my order was confirmed. Had a corrected tax/shipping charge. Went and checked my status again and instead of "order canceled" I get what appears to be an invoice stating that my order was placed today at 2:35pm.

I ordered 2 Monday evening, with the "fake" cart.

Well the one and only one that I ordered was cancelled, thank you everyone who ordered 15x and is now selling them on ebay for $300+. This would of really help with school.

So dispute the transaction with your CC company.

When I went to school, we didn't have tablets. Boo hoo.

Also would just like to point out that you can still buy one, if you're that concerned about your grades.

I will do that if my money is not returned by tomorrow... the whole point is that I shouldn't have to. They shouldn't have charged me. Which is why some of us are bitching about it, it's a pain in the ass and more lost time.

I'm going to do it because I'm not a greedy douche.. if you want an iPad, go get one..

I don't mind stepping up to help some [H]rs out if I can.

I'm taking the high ground and am not gouging [H]ers. I am choosing to gouge eBayers, statistically the dumbest members of society.
