I know it's only 3 reviews, But it seems pretty unreliable. The price is hot though if you get a good one!
Awesome. So, any particular hoops we would have to jump through to get this to work on an X58 mobo?
If you have 64-bit Vista, 64-bit Windows 7, a Mac, 64-bit Linux, or in some cases 32-bit Linux, check to see if your system's BIOS supports 3TB. If doesn't, you'll need to obtain a BIOS update or to buy a newer motherboard that supports 3TB.
Found this
Only boards with UEFI will be able to boot to a 3TB drive, and that's only with 64 bit linux, OSX, vista or win 7. Any 32 bit OS will have problems booting to the drive and so will 64 bit XP.
And even then, the article appears to state the BIOS needs to properly support the drive to even recognize the full 3TB capacity.

I don't know honestly. From that article it sounds like you might still need a BIOS update just to use it as a secondary drive.Alright, but there shouldn't be any issue using it as a secondary drive though, correct?
Looks like this may be the ticket for Asus boards.I don't know honestly. From that article it sounds like you might still need a BIOS update just to use it as a secondary drive.
Cool!Ordered on Sat and got it today, yay for Amazon. Just pop it in and format, no click of death and runs whisper quiet, definitely worth for the price.
Not a bad deal but I'd hate to put everything I own on ONE 3TB drive, would much better prefer three 1TB harddrives in case one dies on me.

Much better deal. Rather throw my self down the stairs than by shitashi.
$129 with EMCKCHJ22
1. Hitachi is fine
2. 2TB for $129 is vastly inferior to 3TB for $107
Having a 3tb shit drive is not fine, it's stupid.
