PC mags are a holdover from the 80's and 90's. They all used to make claims about stupid shit. I remember STart, VG&CE, Antic, STlog, EGM, A.N.A.L.O.G., PC Gamer, .... good old days. :D Can't believe any of them are still around.

Yep. Every year PC Magazine displays a total lack of imagination when it comes to building the fastest gaming machine ever. They also tend to choose crappy peripherals to go with it. The Razer Black Widow Ultimate is far from the best mechanical keyboard choice. The RAT 9 is also a debatable choice. The monitors are nice, but I think the reason for them choosing them is to rack the price up. I'd have chosen different SSDs, and I'd have put more of them in there while I was at it. They used GTX 580 1.5GB cards instead of 3GB cards. WTF?

I think the silver/aluminum gave the original a nice look. This....is just another black case in a field of hundreds of black cases.

Agreed, but it is neat looking. Looks like everyone is jumping on board with similar interior layouts. Funny how so many people used to dog Antec (and others) for putting the PSU on the bottom, now everyone seems to do it.

This looks like the case i am going to upgrade from my Cosmos 1000, the cosmos is great but poor cable mangment. This appears to have 2x 120mm fans for the 6 bottom hard drives, 200mm front for a futher 5 hard drives, 2 hot swappable drives, (13 hard drives) 140mm exhast fan, 3x 120mm top fans (tripple rad) top sliding cover with touch power and reset, front sliding cover for the 5 1/4 bays. And finally 10 PCI slots which gives plenty of expansion for server grade and super high end gaming motherboards.

I just took another look at this case and I give it two thumbs down. Companies are just packing these cases with as much features as they can and the overall design of the case suffers. CM has abandoned it's sleek roots and went full retard with their military theme. Big bulges, black on black everything, and fans everywhere. The Cosmos II looks like a raised HAF X inside. I would have loved a revised ATCS 840 but they abandoned that too. The Cosmos S I just bought for $99 still has the classic CM design I like, and it can be modded easily.

Edit: Also, I'll buy a Caselabs enclosure before I drop $350 on a Cosmos.

It seems they fixed the drive area. When I reused my Cosmos and put in 6 hard drives I noticed the computer was stuttering, drives were disappearing, and the whole machine was crashing occasionally. I then noticed the hard drives were hitting as high as 60C(!). I took off the side panel and it brought them down to around the 40C range. Utterly ridiculous temperatures especially given that's in the basement where it's often as cool as 15C.
