Fractal Design - When in the US?

Were you pleased as well at how easy it was to get all of the cabling behind the MB tray?

I mean, I have never had an easier build...And it is heavy. No crap metal with these XL cases.

I was impressed with the cable management, it was really easy to fit everything behind the motherboard tray, it's a solid case. I ran into one little problem though, but wouldn't blame the case, I have the AX850 and the MoBo 8Pin Power Connector was a little short to run through the outside. So instead I had to unscrew the little plate that separates the mobo region and the PSU region, this is actually a plus for the case since they though ahead for problems like this.
Installing the hard drives, and really anything else was very easy. The case HD trays all have the ability to install a 3.5 or an SSD. For future buyers, make sure to get regular SATA cables, and not the right angle ones.
Overall the case is really quiet, and it keeps cool, it expels a LOT of heat.

I really like the design of the Define R2/R3. I think it is just about the perfect computer case, I could only ask for USB3.0.

Simple, clean, minimalist look. No ugly logos, no crazy lights, no ugly side window. This is the Apple case of PCs. I think its a shame they put a big logo on Fractal's other cases like the Core 3000 or the Arc.

Anybody know when the Mini cases (Define Mini, Arc Mini) will be available? I can't find them anywhere.

Here its mine:

I have 2 modifications made to the fan configuration of the case. A 140mm TR fan directing airflow to the crossfire (this way there is no need for a fan in the side panel which is noisy), and a 120mm behind the lower Hdd cage, that coupled with the inverted Psu keeps the Hdds under 30 degrees C.
In the front there are 2 140mm fans + 1 120mm, rear 1 140mm, top 180mm, all the fans are regulated, are kept more or less at 7v. It´s not completely silent but pretty quiet.

Looks like the R3 is discontinued at Newegg now as well. Anyone know what is going on? It seems like there are no stores in the US carrying these cases any more. I guess my R3 gives me some hipster appeal now since it was only available in the states for a few months, but I wanted an XL for my fileserver. Has fractal announced what's up? I am pretty bummed, it seemed like the only case that had ten hard drive bays that faced the side and had rails for easy swapping and wiring.

Can any Define R3 owners confirm/deny that internal watercooling with a 240/360 rad is not possible, even with some modding? Have been unable to find sufficient info, just a few random forum posts saying that there is not enough space between the top of the case and top of the mobo.

Seems like Newegg no longer lists Fractal Design at all. I'm guessing I won't be getting an Arc Midi any time soon.

Yep, NewEgg only carried the R3 and the XL. Which kind of sucks as their website has some very interesting looking cases I was hoping might hit NewEgg some time. Or maybe Amazon and their Prime membership would be smart enough to pickup the company. ~sigh~ I was eyeing the R3 for sometime in the future.

does anyone know why newegg quit carrying the fractal design cases?

I had heard reports of some of them being damaged in transit...i wonder if too many where broken for it to be profitable to carry them?

bummer cause I kinda wanted a R3

Glad I was able to get my white R3 when I did.
Love it, awesome case.

Glad I got my black R3. It was a breeze to build in. Was hoping to get an Arc Mini for my WHS storage expansion.

Welcome to being screwed!

For years you've Yankee computing freaks have had it good.......... Now you'll pay!... |could always suck up to a border dweller to help you out.

Mexico is closer than Canada.... ;);)

I'll keep it in mind though...

Nevermind, Newegg has listed Fractal Design once again. None are in stock, but maybe they will get some stock soon. The wait for the Arc Midi is killing me.

i was wondering about that delisting then relisting as i have seen that happen with other cases on newegg they did that with my Gigabyte Triton 180 cases they went out of stock then just disappeared from the site (i assumed given what a old design they where gone) but then they came back.

And they still haven't added the Define mini to the listings. Man I want one of those

They're back up now. Grabbed the Define XL. Fuck it. My Lian Li PC-7077B is beautiful, but the hard drives are such a bitch to get to, and I have a 10 drive fileserver in it.

The Define R3 Titanium was in stock for all of two weeks and now it is showing as deactivated again :(

Now that I have the money, do want stock.

yep, I got the notice last night and got one as well. Looking forward to see what all the buzz is about on these R3's :)
