Wake me up when its $10 on Steam. And even at that price my backlog would have to be pretty small.

No, he's serious. EA / Steam need to work out their BS and put Crysis 2 back on Steam. I know I'm not even considering buying Crysis 2 until it comes back to Steam or I can get a disc copy that doesn't require me to insert the disc every time I play.

That sounds good to me. I am a big fan if the first and despite all the crap reviews, I still want to play the 2nd one and $21 works for me. Thanks OP, I'll see if that code works for me.

**edit**

Worked like a charm and is now downloading. For some reason I couldnt get the code to work in Origin. I had to go to the actual website and checkout thru there to get it to go thru. Oh well, thats fine with me. Looking forward to trying it out. Thanks again, OP!

Does Origin have some sort of auto-updating service? I only ask because of the numerous horror stories of applying Crysis 2 updates.

In my experience each game has an updater. Works so so but it works. with Crysis 2 I think theres some manual patches needed.

I am also not buying Crysis 2 until its 5 dollars on steam. Not 10 dollars. 5 dollars. No more.

Okay we get it. Can we stop with the "Insert I want it on steam comments" The title clearly says EA store. You have no business being here.

I think the guys waiting for a crysis 2 deal on steam will be waiting a very long time

Yeah I'm not really getting all the hate either. I totally understand why we have a license to be pissed off at Crytek for crapping on PC gamers after we put them on the map and that's precisely why I didn't pay full price for it but $20 and still truckloads of rage?

Maybe because the game itself is incredibly mediocre and is, design wise, a consolified piece of crap that, as you said, pisses all over the fans that put Crytek on the map, combined with EA taking it off of steam to promote their own destined-to-fail DD service AND 20 dollars still being overpriced by a good 10-15 dollars? Except for that, no reason. If it never comes to Steam for 5-7 bucks I'll likely never buy it. It'll never be on GOG either cause... well.... the first G stands for "good".

Valve pulled it.

Yea, because when a game is on Steam, the gameplay and graphics are so much better.

<-----Serious Face

Well my download is almost finished so I guess Ill find out here in a few minutes if its worth raging over. Hopefully, it wont.

Might go like this..

Yeah basically...

LOL @ people who love FPS games forcing themselves to miss out because Valve screwed up their deal with EA... Steam would have it for $50 anyway, why would you want it there? EADM/Origin gives you the full installer and key to back up to an external hard drive and install/play like retail but with no cd required in the drive...

Again, Valve pulled it, not EA. Valve/Steam didn't want it to use its own patcher, and removed it. The game is very fun and not consolized any more than any other title in existence, it's actually very PC-tailored I feel like when I play it. Gameplay is very smooth, more directed than Crysis 1, better nanosuit, and has great smooth-running graphics, what more can you ask for?

As far as Crysis 2 itself, REALLY fun, way better than Crysis 1 and with the DX11 patch (even before it looked good @ DX9) runs great and looks spectacular. I paid $16 for an EADM key a few ago and wished I had just bought it sooner, I was missing out :D.

I'd rather gargle nails than pay money for Crysis 2

/care
/sarcasm @ caring

I will gladly pay $10 extra for a game to be 100% STEAM FREE, I don't like Steam.

Played a few minutes of it and I have to admit, I kinda like it. I havent downloaded the DX11 patch yet but even now the graphics still looks pretty damn good. Only averaging 35-40 fps though so I guess I have a good excuse to get a GTX580 now. :D

But still, I think its not bad so far. Definitely worth $20.

No! Because EA/Origin blows!

They are cheap bastards. The game only checks, downloads and applies updates when you try to launch the game. So if you installed the game 2 months ago and want to try the DX11 patch right now, you will have to wait for the download to finish. Then wait for the install.

Steam on the other hand will auto update and apply all updates while I'm at work or sleeping.

EA = cheap bastards that want to save ever mega of bandwidth possible

Steam = gives bandwidth away like grows on trees, giving the user a far superior service

Not all games auto update and require manual patches.. All depends on the dev/game.

Origin is suppose to have auto patching and all the stuff soon. Still in beta.

still too much for pos console port.

Don't think console games have direct X11.

I had fun with the original demo and for $21 I'm tempted to buy it. Seems like a fair deal.

How are the servers lately? Plenty of players?

I enjoyed Crysis 2. I thought the intelligence was decent (except when the enemies got stuck) and you really had to use your surroundings to position yourself well. Worth it IMO.

Sorry guys I was just trying to post a hot deal. I think I started a hate thread :(.

I don't care what distribution system this game is on. It's FKING HORRIBLE. DX9 at release. Way to FK up your sequel to one of the best looking games ever. Then you attempt to PATCH the game to DX11... SUCK ME SIDEWAYS. Might as well stick to DX9, keep adding textures and lighting affects like Call of Duty.

Well guys the OP was just listing a deal that he found on the internet for those that are interested in purchasing the game. There's really no reason to rehash why some like or dislike the game in this thread as the OP didn't intend to start a flame thread. $21 for a game that is still sold for $59 isn't a bad deal regardless of what you think of it. Please respect that.

Don't let the hate whores scare you off. There are just some people still who simply want to play a game and aren't trying to fight a Holy War. We share stuff like this to help people save a few bucks.

The BS politics are free everyday of the week.
