Stay away... Far far away. I am trying to return mine. It is a POS. It has a lot of compatibility issues.
Like? I was planning on using it in my WHS connected to 4 WD RE4 drives.
I am the second one to report it. I think. I read on another forum that after creating an array with Vertex 3, that guy was not able to do anything with it. Every time he would try to go in and partition it, it would drop drives. Well I tested it myself with drives I thought would work: The Crucial C300. A google search has a guy with the exact same setup showing his results on youtube. I tried it and ran into the exact same problem: Drives dropping off the array. Same drive, same cables work perfectly on 3 other LSI cards. I then switched to another model of drives: Kingston V+100. Same problem. Either I had a defective card or they have some serious firmware issues. The fact that I am not the only one having the problem and that someone else had the same problem with another SSD makes me think that their firmware is all messed up.
