2011 Intel Summer Deal

Well, seeing as they go for $280 on ebay, I see no reason to charge less than $250 personally. I mean, I understand doing nice things for people, but think of me while I'm working Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday on a "holiday" weekend because I work in retail :(. I'll sell you a 2600k for $175 if you come in and work on Monday for me :).

And I'd gladly pay you that $250 knowing what you have to put up with on a daily basis to get in on this deal.

Did anyones order ship yet? I haven't received a shipping confirmation email yet even though I ordered last week.

me neither, but mine is the end of 67xxx
what did you get?

Just a 2600k...I already had a 970 from the last deal, and a G2 160GB drive. The price points on those SSD's weren't compelling.

Can someone (esp. the thread starter) update the 1st post on what the prices were? And no links? Granted, I haven't read the whole thread, but it'd be nice if all the pertinent info. were contained in the 1st post. TIA.

i haven't used my SSD quota, let me know if you want one and offer a price?
i'm shipping from vancouver, bc, canada

although i MAY drive over to point roberts, WA and ship it via CONUS if its ALOT cheaper.

edit: hmm, ok i just did a quick check on UPS's website shipping from point roberts as opposed to cross the border is like less half the price of shipping cross the border

I ordered the first day of availability.
Fedex reference info says it shipped May 31st and will arrive June 2nd.
I just finally got my shipping confirmation email from intel. :-D

I ordered on 5/26 and have only gotten the order confirmation. The FedEx tracking link brings up no result so I'm assuming it has not yet shipped. The last Holiday Deal it took about 3 weeks for the 970 to arrive.

I looked at that board. Is that the one with the 4-pin or 8-pin AUX power connector?

I'm also in the order range of #68xxx. I ordered on the 26th and it has not yet been shipped.
I'm picking up a Gigabyte GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 and some mushkin redline. Gonna make a nice little micro atx HTPC and overclock it.

wtffff me and my friends all have order number of 67xxx and none got any shipping confirmations or successful tracking thru reference

Thanks. The prices aren't bad, but not overly impressive to go through all the hoops that was outlined in the OP.

but u also have to understand you only have to do it once, as long as u keep ur account up to date with pts and training (5mins) a month, then ur good to go twice a year for good deals

I didn't even have to do this. I found out about the deal and it only took a few minutes to get rockstar status back. The most important thing is don't spend your chips, so that when the next deal comes around and the next 'level' of rockstar comes around, you've almost got enough chips already.

Winter deal needed 30k chips for rockstar, summer needed 40k. i expect the next winter deal will be 50k, so I've stopped earning chips at 48,850 chips(I actually ran out of stuff to get more chips from).

I have a list of 12 courses to complete, but cannot find them. The search is useless when using the names, or even keywords, and I have all courses done on the learning tab. No idea what to do next. (I am verified)

I believer its pts that you earn not what you keep, I have had less points Thant that after buying something with points and stll remained rock star

Those courses are a pain to find. You would think they would just make them linkable at the bottom of the page so you could go straight to them, but now. The one clue is they tell you which category they are in so you can narrow down the search that way.

Click on the Learning tab at the top of the site, when the next page loads on the right hand side there's a header called "Browse by Learning type" - underneath there is a link you can hit which will take you to your "Not Taken" stuff.

I ordered my stuff the day it went live on the 25th and it shipped out the 31st and arrived today.

You only need to get to Rockstar once - and then just make sure to earn 2000 chips per month (very easy) to keep your status.

that is correct, i believe you still have a lot of time left my friend

Here's how to find all the things you haven't done in the learning tree:
Click on Learning.
Scroll down to "Browse by Learning Type:" on the right side in grey text.
Click on any of the categories in small blue text.
You'll get a search results page that has a bunch of things. There is a "Sort by:" dropdown on the right, one of the options is "Not Taken."
If you've done them all, scroll to the "Browse by Learning Type:" again, it's right there on the search page. Move along from type to type.
Keep in mind you can also earn points by going through the news items. Some of them have videos with quizzes.

I had not worked on my account since december, and I had dropped down to roadie, but still had my 31,500 chips. I became rockstar again when I passed the 40k mark.

Got my SSD and 2600k today. :D

Now I just need to sell my old parts...

Thank you. While this showed me some quizzes that I had not done, not a single one of the 12 "required" ones was there, under all 3 categories. (Text, Interactive, Video)
