whatever man, i dont have time for this... i didnt agree with the idling thing because you sat there every night and some of us helped you build that fucking place, yet yer gonna say "nobody can idle" i mean give me a break man, seriously, we all have grinders we made and yer basically saying "well thanks for helping me build mine, but your not gonna be allowed to sit there and let goods gather in your own grinder, but thanks for giving me the opportunity to collect goods"... anyway not worth the time, you coulda brought it up in a PM to me or stayed here, didnt need to start bitching about it on the server and then do what you did, no f-ing reason for that at all and you know it, yer just abusing your powers now that g1 doesnt wanna admin it anymore, so abuse away, one less person to abuse

sokyo and zexx since you guys helped me the most, yer welcome to my stuff, let me know when you can be on and i'll meet you and give you all the goods i got

Since the whole crux of the issue is around the stinking grinders, why don't we just blow em all up and make that the end of it? :D
 
Dude, quit with the emo. This isn't a public server, the admins can do what they want.

You could have asked for gun powder from the corsair grinder too. And all the other drops from it are open to the public... hence the reason arr4ws is afking at it.

You've been bitching about the server from day 1. I recommend using the hardware you have "laying around" to start your own server. ;)
 
Everything with Vycor and me has been taken care of.

That seems to only happen when using Advanced OpenGL for me (what does that setting even do anyway? I read somewhere it has to do with occlusion culling but I dunno for sure).

Anyway, LOL @ drama. I can understand locking it down, but gunpowder is really the only thing worthwhile from a major grinder like that. Another solution might be to make gunpowder unrestricted and have some sort of block protection mod. Just an idea...
 
Sorry im late to the discussion, afk timer is and always has been 15 minutes.

Im the host its my hardware, its a measure that keeps the server running smoothly for everyone. Each person uses 10% of cpu and 300MB of ram. With 3GB dedicated to MC I don't have the slots to spare.

If this is not acceptable, im sorry, we only offer our server as an option. Nobody is forced to stay. Start your own or buy one, we wont judge you.
 
Maybe I built a good mob grinder but I've never idled for loot and in just a couple days have more arrows, bones, feathers, and gunpowder that I know what to do with.

I think some of you guys need to make sure you don't have hoarding issues :)

edit: If anyone needs some stacks of loot just drop by my house (FlashIV) just don't drain me dry and don't break my glowstone lamps. I had to replace two yesterday cause I guess someone felt like they needed two pieces of glowdust :rolleyes:

Not sure if this is sarcasm... but, arr4ws felt really bad about what happened, he and i (really just him, I just kind of watched), rebuilt the creeper wall. He was trying to make amends.

What good does TNT do if there's block protection? That confuses my late night brain?

If you guys check out the creeper zoo, you'll see part of my plan for the "idling" im in need of a MASSIVE amount of arrows. Me and dude stocked it today from my own stock and the public grinder, but if people start using it a lot, i'll be low on arrows very shortly.

Next to the big creeper head is a "venting" machine if you will... where you get to vent and get payback on mobs. You turn the lever off, wait and mobs will spawn in the glass. then jump on the pad and it'll shoot arrows at the mobs and kill em, you can then turn the lever back on, run in and collect the loot you earned frmo killing them... with this i'll need a lot of arrows, which is why i wanted to sit idle, to collect em overnight and keep a constant supply.

i see your point about the CPU usage, that does make sense

Im sure arr4ws felt bad, if i was in his shoes id feel same, but he rebuilt it and alls well now... i was really mad because thats now the SECOND time my creeper got burned down, last time was when zexx warped in and we had the lightning mod enabled that set him on fire... so after rebuilding it once, i was aggrivated and left.

but i came back to a creeper head sitting there, i just had a few things to add and its back to normal.

if we do anything next maybe we should enable "building protection" now that more and more people are starting to come on board, things could get dicey very quickly, the entire boardwalk is... well wood, because it looks nice, one spark and its gone
 
I guess I get to make the big almost monthly reminder:

If you are going to cut down a tree, PLEASE cut down the whole damn thing instead of leaving a big ass clump of leafs floating in the mid air.

World protection, there are tons of options, unfortunately all of which are going to make some players mad in some way.

Fire spread can prolly do that tho.

But its not really survival without risk

im not on often, but when i am, i try to help others, because thats what online games are for, creating a community, that is worthwhile.
im the first to spare you some diamonds and iron if you are new to the server, heck, i spent most of the last days grinding apples out of thousands of trees so that noone has to take care of that.
i walked around for 4 hours couple of days ago to find enough eggs, so everyone could have a piece of cake (not a lie).

just be sensible, be respectful for FUCKS sake.

edit: okay, now im getting PISSED off as well. what sort of a knobhead would empty my appledispensers, turn them towards the pressure plate and fill them with arrows?

I thought about trying this game out and decided not to because there seems to be some real mod/admin power trippers out there. If this is how a server is run by people from this board, then I really don't want to know what happens on other servers.

I didnt set your place on fire on purpose. Dude get the fact straight. I didnt run in your place with a flint and steel. Dont make it like i was on a power trip , admit your bad in this situation instead of telling everyone im a jackass and you did nothing. Im not a jackass and i admin this server the best way i can, but you pushed me hard this time and i just smite you to show you what would happen if you were to use your macro to work around the afk timer.

Seriously. Ive redone your place , and all you were able to tell me in Pm is , oh you missed the last row of wood... WTF? People even told me to kick you and i didnt. If being an admin starts to be a chore , ill be just a regular builder.

Also, I understand that people have a sense of humor, but in this game, alot of what people are building is for a fallen friend, dont be dicks about it, we dont need to have people grief other peoples work, or play practicle jokes on others.



As a side note, there is no "admin" rage. We all feel a little passionate about the work we are doing in the server, so sometimes tempers may flare. But trust us, we will not abuse the powers vested in us. We are all working on the same goal, an awesome community dedicated to building an awesome world dedicated to our fallen friend!

well this is the side of the story of Vycor. I really invite you to try the game. Our server is run by nice people (beside me , im the jackass there it seems) and we have many great structures.

Well, it's hard for some, there are a lot of Minecraft servers out there that are wide open, with so many freedoms and options and they get locked into what they think minecraft should be. With minecraft able to adapt and really be anything anyone wants some views get crossed.

I host and plan to try and keep the majority happy, there are a lot of things I'd like but I'd never think of it because of the riots that would follow! lol

















side note: new version of bukkit has been out a few days, going to update versions, PLEASE if you notice any problems with ANYTHING, let me know some plugins will pass over with no changes, some might have to be well... shot with a lightning bolt :-P

No, I have no issues with the way its run as well. Tbh I was on the server when this happened, vycor was pretty much whining up a storm and refused arr4ws attempts to work with him. Either way though, I think its time to move on.
 
ATTENTION:

Sorry for any problems this causes, but minecart mania has changed how it does things, and can't seem to get the old ways working.

All gold blocks will have to be replaced with Powered Rails... do not power them, but still, you'll have to use them.

All admins, the largest project to date, Super Special Secret (SSS for short), has started I need admins to check in if you want to help. ... This might take a while...

I can vouch that this happened to arr4ws, he used yer dispenser and got killed... ironic though isnt it... i put apples back in though after he died, i didnt swap the arrows in but i went ahead and put apples back in so nobody else got hurt

I suggest you play here, dont let this one little thing between me/arr4ws change your mind its a great place.

ALL: arr4ws DID NOT set it on fire on purpose, it was a complete accident when he was trying to get me to listen, hes forgiven and he FIXED IT, which was nice of him. ALL IS WELL NOW.

Anybody else: the server is NOT abused, people are not going haywire its a LOT of fun, join up and play you'll see... we just had this one little thing between arr4ws and myself and its over, done with and its in the past. Lets all try not to bring it up again, it was a really dumb thing between the two of us and its over. Lets move on and start building more things and having more fun.
