Simple privacy when surfing. Not to concerned about "getting away with downloads". But if that's the software to use because it works better then so be it.

PeerBlock will work, you'll have to grab the right lists, leave the HTTP blocking on, and then whitelist trusted sites when you need to.

One more thing I'd recommend is (if you're using Firefox), grab the BetterPrivacy extension.

I had Peerblock running the other day while running Vuze. Vuze reported a warning and showed me my IP address which I never have happen before. Isn't Peerblock supposed to hide your IP?

peerblock is essentially just a firewall that blocks IPs/IP ranges based on the lists you're using

Sorry to bump a thread that hasn't had any activity for a couple months, but I didn't think this was worth making a new thread over. I was just wondering if there's someone here who can elaborate a bit on lists for PeerBlock and which ones to use based on what you're doing online. I have always just used the default P2P, Spyware, and Advertising lists and wasn't sure if I should be doing more, if the program is even worth running, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
