Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Yeah, looks very good. This and Cowboys & Aliens = winning!

As a huge fan of the book and the original movie I hate this reboot. In the book and movie apes evolved into intelligent beings after humans destroyed civilization. They all ready screwed up trying to reboot the franchise once. Why can't Hollywood leave a classic alone without trying to milk it for another $100 million?

Any fan of good Science Fiction should seek out the original book or the original film. Avoid the sequels at all cost though.

Not a fan of the fact that they used "real" apes (real as in realistic albeit computer generated, not real real). If the scientists had created a man-like ape as in the Mark Walberg version (well yeah, the original version too), then I'd enjoy it more. I've never liked movies with animals in it, real or computer generated "real".

Sequels already planned

The future of the Apes Begins
Humans Strike back
The return of the Apes
The fellowship of the Apes
The Chronicles of the planet of the apes
The order of the Apes
Beverly Hills Apes
Legally Ape
Not another Ape Movie

:D:D

Not writing this movie off--yet--though the name change from the somewhat more elegant Rise of the Apes honestly wasn't a good start. What simultaneously amuses and bothers me about the trailer isn't the content--it's that they went out of their way to insert only one credit into it, and that's for WETA Digital. You don't trust your material enough to let it stand on its own, Fox?

stupid, apes can't multiple like dogs and cats.

i'll still watch it.

i havent read the book....might some day though....

until then i think this looks decent....better than another sex and the city

I don't mean to poo poo on anyone's parade but meh, some thing to cowboys vs aliens, I thought it was a joke actually.

People who make trailers have a new trend that they need to stop, the bass sound that sounds like its winding down being used over and over, just like the shocking notes in this trailer, its getting very, very... did I say very, old.

Imagine apes running the country. Haha. Even with their modest intelligence, they're still wild creatures.

I kinda liked Conquest of the Planet of the Apes as well as the first...lol. Not too sure I will dig this reboot..ahh hell, i'm not a purist...i'll like it. :p

.
well first we've had already Skynet on the way, now the apes... Earth will be busy place next 100 year (hey aliens, take a number and the line is over the corner!)

Hollywood is so completely morally and intellectually bankrupt all they can do is crank out remakes and remakes of remakes.
That mindless gutter humor filled trash aimed at the HS and college crowd.
Most every release is 100% formula based you can predict what is going to happen next.
I very, rarely sit and watch a TV show and maybe go out to see a film once a year.

Totally agree. NO matter how smart a small cell of apes becomes, its a hard sell to envision they enslave 8 BILLION+ entrenched humans. The original story is FAR more plausible.

hollywood has lost its imagination.

now all we get are prequels to sequels of remakes of other sequels of other prequels and more sequels of sequels.

hollywood has hit a wall.

Hollywood is a business. They'd rather spend a lot of money on overpriced actors & effects if it was fairly certain to return a good profit than take a risk on something new or different that might fail. These days I only buy DVDs used of fleabay and i'll probably stop doing that once they figure out a way to do DLC for movies.

At 88 MPH...guess their flux capacitor failed.

2nd reboot of the series + yet another movie that uses genetic tampering + The Cure (that's all the writers could come up with? Seriously? Not to be confused with the band by the same name) = yet another 800 pound turd from Hollywood. I think I'll wait for the Bollywood version. :D

A few dozen smart gorillas against 7 BILLION humans ... hmm, there goes humanity. Too far below the believability scale.

HaHa.......uh wait.........they do already.

so basically, this is how hollywood works. They recycle shit every 10 years because they're all out of ideas.

but the sheep go to see these movies anyway.

up next we have yet another Superman movie.

Love it. xD

I watch movies to be entertained and I look forward to this remake. I am also a fan of the original run.

Thanksgivings suck now that they dont have a marathon of the originals. I used to pile up on the couch all day and watch 'em all. But now, I have to interact with the inlaws...

Really? Take down the internet, phones and tv and we all become slaves.

The apes get hold of that drug from limitless. Just need to wait until they run out.

True, but I'm not so concerned with the "believability" of the story-line as being a well told story. There are plenty of good movies that don't even come close to being believable.

Stay classy, Monkey.

Meh. I would have included congress to, but there isn't enough screen-space.;)

I wouldn't say they're "rebooting" it...more like exploring a piece of the story in an alternate timeline/universe type of thing. I wouldn't put this together with the Planet of the Apes story in any sort of fashion. As a stand-alone sort of deal (which it IS, make no mistake you panty-wadded brats), it looks pretty good. I'll definitely be seeing this.
