Think you are [H]ard? Think you are capable of surviving in a real cut throat PVP environment that does not cater to the wow carebears?

Prove it..
http://www.eveonline.com/

Facts:
  • The only MMO that has been running for 5+ years that has a population that continues to grow instead of shrink.
  • The only MMO on the market that literally allows you to become anything you want from a miner, complex runner/hacker, pirates, CEO and much more.
  • No useless grinding, skills are trained by purchasing and training in a skill queue at a flat rate over time. The gap between years seasoned players and brand new is only in the ships they can fly. This meaning that a 2 day old pilot with Skill can challenge even the most advanced player in the right circumstances. No other MMO has this, the rest are all about Epic gear = win button garbage.
  • Set in space, no fantasy elf fairy garbage.
  • Currency earned in game can be used to purchase PLEX, which are ingame game cards. So if you learn to make money, thats right you can play for free.
  • Very little gold farming spam, CCP is extremely good about banning these people super fast.

Think you got what it takes? Prove It. (WoW players need not apply, there is no I win button and this game is too [H]ard for you ;)). Pm me and I will send you a Buddy pass for the 21 day trial.

Your post makes it sound like you're recruiting for a military operation or something...

Sorry, just when I see someone say you've got to play a game to be [H]ard it just kinda has an odd twist to it. :D

You know, on reading it again it sorta does. That is rather amusing. Ah well, they do say we Eve players are certainly a different bunch. :D

21 days to realize that a game exists that makes you more bored with life than just sitting staring at a blank wall :)

I'm sorry but some of the things you say about EVE are full of fail. I have two characters (Revenant, and Happy Hippy) and some of what you say isn't true.

The skills still take a long time: weeks, months, and years to up. The gaps are still huge between new players and older players. A 2 day old pilot, can not at all take on a advanced player. He will be popped in his little noob ship in .3 seconds.

EDIT: Found this online actually: Time to max all skills: 65y 141d 16h 0m (Proof Here)

Eve is about epic gear, epic ships, epic modules, and epic skills as well. Don't lie, it's stupid.

Very little gold farming spam, CCP is extremely good about banning these people super fast.

Yes, they ban them fast if they do it in forums and if they post in chat's however they can create new accounts in literally 5 minutes with a new trial period. It isn't hard.

Basically your post is full of fail, and lies about the game.

A new pilot can somewhat effectively perform a tackler role though, and the ships are cheap enough that anyone you tackle for will buy you a whole pile of fitted ships to help you out while you lean the ropes.

I've been trying out the game for a few days now (again, after trying 2 years ago or so) and it's ok at this point. The UI feels like it's trying to squeeze too many buttons on the screen and the combat mechanics are mediocre at best. The game has incredible depth and a good community though.

Oh, and everything takes a stupid amount of time to complete, and not in the sense of other MMOs. Other MMOs, a long quest/mission/whatever takes a long time cause you have to do a lot to complete it. In my EVE adventures thus far, a fair amount of time is just spent watching autopilot fly through a few jumpgates in the background while reading [H].

I'm part of TEST alliance through B0RT and its pretty fun with all the ops and stuff. I'm only a 3 month character but there are items and plugins that help you train skills faster.

Yes all the skills can take 65 years but thats everything. People decide to train for different roles in the game.

How did I know someone was going to post uninformed garbage...

New players take on advanced players and win all the time. If you play you should be well aware of this. I did say "Under the right circumstances" or did you miss that? Yes on the average an advanced player is going to roll a newbie all day long. Doesn't mean they aren't impossible to kill.

Posting that link is far more misleading than anything I posted. No player is going to realistically attempt to get every single skill. The point is that you can become anything you want. If you are looking to max everything, you are playing the wrong game. World of noobcraft is -----> that way.

All about epic ships is it? Funny, seems to me most of your pirates and roaming pvp gangs run around in low level frigates and jump much larger and expensive ships all the time. Sure there is the drive to get bigger and better stuff, duh. That doesn't make you essentially invulnerable to lower tier gear like nearly every other game though. Heck the only time I hop into one of my more expensive ships is for complex running. Otherwise I run around in a Tier 1 frigate. Why? Because I can take on all but the largest ships, get away if I need too, and if I lose it doesn't cost me a ton of money. Eve is more about taking the minimum to the fight and still winning.

So you posted a bunch of diversionary information. Congrats. Go crap on someone else's thread.

Back On Topic

Fyi, only use Autopilot to travel if you don't care about your time. It takes a LONG time to get anywhere for obvious reasons. Use warp to 0 and travel manually and it is much faster.

Also, I suggest joining an outfit like OUCH if you are newer to the game. Reasons being that outside teaching you to survive anywhere they also teach you the fundamentals of how to configure your UI to have it make sense. Note I didn't say the UI was good by default (what mmo is?).

http://www.ouch-uni.com/ <--- this for new players ESPECIALLY.

Uninformed? I've been playing EVE off and on since almost the start with different characters.

New players take on advanced players and win all the time. If you play you should be well aware of this. I did say "Under the right circumstances" or did you miss that? Yes on the average an advanced player is going to roll a newbie all day long. Doesn't mean they aren't impossible to kill.

It depends on your definition of more advanced player to begin with, and also "under the right circumstances". Secondly, noobies taking on more advanced players almost never ends well for the noobie, unless there are very large fleets of them. Or the noobie jumps in very last second in a fight and shoots the guy...then of course he gets the kill mail.

Posting that link is far more misleading than anything I posted. No player is going to realistically attempt to get every single skill. The point is that you can become anything you want. If you are looking to max everything, you are playing the wrong game. World of noobcraft is -----> that way.

No player is going to do that, you are right unless you are a very long time player. However your first post made it look like it is easy or fast to train skills when in fact, it is not unless you are talking about the first notch of the skill. The skills in fact take in some cases days and months to max sometimes depending on the tier of the skill. Yes, you can be almost anything though depending on where you specialize your skill, just like in nearly any other MMO.

I've actually never seen a gang of pirates in .4 or below roaming in tier one frigates unless they are noob no name pirates. They roam with remote reppers, assault frigate/interceptor tacklers, nos ships, and hac's and battleships. I didn't say you couldn't be in gang's with more expensive better ships, I did that as a noob as well. However if you become primary, you get popped very quickly. You are never invulnerable in EVE, cap, and fitting always come into play. However, you are invulnerable to lower level gear if you've fit your ship correctly and in most cases PVP'ers do fit a buffer tank, at least I always do.

So you posted a bunch of diversionary information. Congrats. Go crap on someone else's thread.

I wasn't crapping your thread, I was just providing corrections to your misinformation about the game trying to make it look like it was something it was not. If you are going to try to attract players to the game at least give them the whole truth about the game and not misinformation. It's in fact a very fun and beautiful game, and once you start playing it you will begin to waste many hours playing it. The community is always very helpful, and the ships you can work towards and the modules you can acquire. Well they are amazing once you start getting into that stuff. There are also very many helpful players within the game, and a ton of corporations and alliances that are willing to help out new players. But before you start playing, get involved in the forums and research everything first, you will learn a ton about the game. Also you can create a trial account and ask some of the VERY MANY players of the game questions you may have. Later. :D

I think it's worth to point out that the person who sends the 21-day Buddy Pass invite receives a free month of gametime if the buddy converts to a paid account within 14 days of activating the pass. It's also worth pointing out that rather that mooching free game time I to this day pay 225 million ISK if the buddy converts from an invite I sent. So you can PM Dekoth-E for a buddy pass or you can PM me.

Also, EVE has become more and more noob friendly over the years. Today a player can have fun in the game from day one if they get in with a good group of players. Solo EVE gets boring quickly and is neither EVE's strong point nor is it intended to be. EVE is about multiplayer not single-player in parallel with others who go through the same game on the same server in single-player mode.

Hey, mission whoring solo is fun too. It gets you out of the shit sometimes if you don't feel like dealing with the drama that is involved in corporations sometimes.

I love eve but this is complete and utter bullshit.

The gap between years seasoned players and brand new is only in the ships they can fly. This meaning that a 2 day old pilot with Skill can challenge even the most advanced player in the right circumstances.

Even in 100% identical ships with a 100% identical layout unless the vet is AFK it would be entirely impossible to lose to a new player. Methinks the OP has not really played very long at all.

Agree, as you will notice from my posts. I called out his BS.
