More Hawken Gameplay Footage

Kinda have to agree with the "Top Comments" on the video. Seems a little too fast-paced and FPS-y for a true mech game.

Where's our proper Mechwarrior sequel? :(

I agree, but honestly I am still looking forward to this, it looks like it will be fun!

OMG!
don't say MECHWARRIOR!!
Harmony Gold will hear you and drowned this so deep in litigation that it will fade from human memory!

I so want to play this!!!!!!

I'm a huge mech fan, and would love to get my hands on this one :D

The graphics look pretty impressive .. blows that other city game that was just released out of the water ...I don't remember the name of that one though because it wasn't memorable.

If you have Crysis Wars and want to play Mechwarrior, MWLL is the way to go! It's amazing fun. So many things you can do, so many strategies to use.
I like the leveling that they implemented, it makes a lot of sense the way it's done.

It looks like UT3 with Mech's...

Yeah, that's my concern. Like that Xbox game Mech Assault. It was just a stupid third-person shooter with no real connection to actual mech games at all, other than the fact that you were in a mech doing the shooting.

Personally its not my style. I see too much Gundam influence, more battlesuit than mech.

coolest looking thing Ive seen in years.

yeah it looks like UT3 with mechs, but I guess that's not a bad thing IMO. I've not played UT3 or any mech game though, so maybe my opinion doesn't count :)

looks freaking bad ass... normally I don't like these types of games either, stuck inside some contraption that I am manipulating, but man.. looks pretty damn cool.. there's a lot going on though.. just keeping track of all the shit must take some energy..

and this goes to show you it doesn't take that long to crank out something that's really good.. even with a small team of engineers / designers... just takes good ideas, good minds, good attitude.. and a lot of energy drinks. :p

Doesn't look like UT3 with mechs. It looks like Tribes (jet packs) with mechs. Infact it looks like Tribes+Mechwarrior.

Looks fun.

I wish people would stop referring to this as mechwarrior, not even close. Its more Halo than mechwarrior.

Clearly you don't know that much about Tribes or Mechwarrior to make such a claim.

OMG look at the graphics; and use of lighting, fog and shadows. This shit looks better than all the other COD/MOH/Crysis2 crap out there. God bless indie companies, at least they give a damn about quality.

Kinda funny someone mentioned Tribes because I was reminded of Starsiege, which was the prequel game to tribes, or at least occurred sometime before the Tribes timeline.

But this definitely has a slower paced Armored Core feel to it.

This looks great. What would be even better is if you could camo your mech to transform back to a turret to remain undetected, but immobile. Or what would be really cool, is if if the buildings could sustain damage and drop debris or even be demo'ed completely to use as weapons against your opponents. The whole environment should be destroyable. That would be sick.

Can you see barraging the lower floor of a buildings supports and watching it collapse? Nice.

Glad someone finally got around to making an Exosquad video game! :p

Strange name for the game though.

kinda reminds of the old mech FPS Shogo Mobile Armor Division. They should make a sequel to that game.

They do look very similar.....

I wonder if I still have that toy around somewhere......

Has a very anime look to it. Not the biggest fan of anime (outside of like Cowboy Bebop or Akira), but I really love the art direction they've used.

Hope they take their time with it to really flesh it out.

I think the environment is badass. That city they are fighting in looks like an awesome deathmatch battleground.

Tribes was a minigame from Starsiege, but grew into its own thing.

And this is nuts.

Dragon Age 2 was 8 months of development on a 99% pre-existing game engine and still looks (visually) unfinished.

There are certain points, like 20 seconds in or so, where I feel like I am looking at a movie scene like in District 9 or Battle:LA.

It looks just like Duke Nukem Forever + Crysis except it's totally different and has mechs! [/sarcasm]

I'll be picking this up unless there's something glaringly wrong with it when the final product comes out.
