Will my processor greatly bottleneck the GTX590?

Honestly not in a way that matters. if your playing at 1920x1200 or below your still going to push over 60 fps regardless and if your playin on a 30 inch or a multi monitor setup your GPU won't be able to feed your CPU enough data to even begin to keep it busy. sure maybe with a faster cpu you could push 200 fps in older titles instead of 150fps but really you will never see those extra frames so it doesn't matter.

Probably not, but that GTX590 catching fire might bottleneck your CPU ;)

Sorry, couldnt resist

you'll never see over 120fps at any resolution with a 120mhz monitor.

If you buy a 590 now, before they address the obvious issue of build quality.....

Depends on what you mean by see. If you disable Vsync (which is needed in some games) it can go as high as the CPU/VC will allow it to go.

Um, no shit Sherlock? Who said anything about 120hz monitors and wtf did you bring up resolution for. Obviously you're not going to be able to see anything higher than your monitors refresh rate. Good post

OP. What are you running that CPU at? If you get the card and think you are holding it back, Overclock that i5 some more.

That's a legit concern. Honestly I think the GTX 590 is a bad buy. The GPUs are too gimpy (referring to their clocks) and the thermal solution seems inadequate.

Wait until DD or someone has a full coverage block...then play with the card.

However, the offending cards were being overvolted by large amounts...

Once some full cover blocks are out, then yeah, it might be nice to play with one. I still would rather have standard GTX 580's, but that's just me.

Na bro your processor is good. Just make sure you oc that baby to at least 4Ghz.

Stock cards are dying all of the place as well. If the circuitry sucks, the circuitry sucks. Changing the cooler won't help that much (running the card at lower temperatures will save some watts, but not anything significant).
