Worst Company In America 2011

WCIA Is a joke any more anyway, Hell most of Consumerist is a joke.

In 2010, Comcast beat out TicketMaster, which beat out BofA? Seriously?

In the Facebook VS TWC match, here is one of the TWC digs:
"Time Warner Cable is also on the forefront of metered broadband and consumption based billing"

TWC has not even mentioned metered broadband since '09 when they got so much bad press over the tests. But does Consumerist care? Nope.

My "finals" match up would consist of Sony vs. Apple. Probably give the "win" to Apple. :D

Where's Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac? Our economy is still suffering because of all those loans they guaranteed.

How does Dell make it on there and HP doesn't? Seems a little strange to me. They are both pretty much equally good and bad in the same areas. If they are wanting their original brackets to match similar companies, HP would make a much better match than Sony.

This. I'm sick of trying to repair these damn HP laptops every stupid time. Haven't encountered Dells in forever, kinda miss them.

They should bend the rules a little and throw the US Congress in there for fun. ;)

I'm trying to prepare and think of what soundtrack I should be playing upon the inevitable battle of epic douches in...

COMCAST vs APPLE

You really should watch "Inside Job."

It was collusion on an industry wide scale.

I would take AT&T for the #1 pick
Comcast
Best Buy
BP

That is my top 4. Best Buy gets a nod because they fire National Guard soldiers who are away on duty... I would know...

Inside Job is full of inaccuracies and half truths.
I've never seen inside job and while I'm imagining it to be one of these conspiracy videos that prey on the mentally incompetent, the premise that the economic disaster was due to a lot of political (both D and R), financial (every institution), consumer, and real estate corruption is spot on. The problems we're facing shouldn't be blamed on one president or financial institution, they should be blamed on the idiocy and greed of the American citizens. The worst part is, this country still hasn't learned it's lesson....we still think we're entitled to everything and are still making horrific financial decisions.

Right and not just greed either. A lot of it was political favors and backscratching. I think it was actually caused by politicians who forced Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac to make these bad loans (they did, look it up) and the people on Wall Street took advantage of the situation.

Did you know that the gov't forced many financial corporations to take money even if they didn't want it? That most of these corporations payed back the money as soon as they were allowed to do so? The government wanted control over these institutions, that's why they wanted to give them money.

Comcast apparently sent out a company-wide email to its employees urging them to vote for Charter. It was inevitably leaked and led to a quick 20% increase in votes against them. :p

While this is somewhat true, there is an economic reason as well. If all the banks didn't take TARP money, then those who did would have been absolutely ripped to shreds and forced into insolvency - thus making the whole effort of saving them pointless.

That being said, the banks have a hell of a lot of the share of blame. I worked mortgages in a city that is regularly featured in the top 3, at a few points the #1 spot, cities with the most foreclosures per capita. I saw firsthand janitors coming in, a mortgage rep filling out the paperwork for them and putting in whatever income the rep knew would qualify them for the loan. Yes people have personal responsibility, absolutely. Yet the financial "expert" from the bank would assure them they could refi and take more money out in a year - and my favorite, "A HOUSE IS ALWAYS A GOOD INVESTMENT" ...meaning they should stretch and take the home even if it would be extremely financially difficult.

So you have banks managing trillions of dollars with hundreds of thousands of employees, among them economists, finance wizards, etc, claiming to have been conned and taken advantage of by janitors and construction workers. Uh huh, right.

My Final Four:
GameStop vs Ticketmaster

BP vs Comcast

Final:
Ticketmaster vs BP

Champions
Ticketmaster (Most greedy company ever)

While BP is a bad company, or at least was last year on how they mishandled the oil spill, for the most part, that did not affect us individually, as say, AT&T, Comcast, BoA, Apple, etc. do

I think Ticketmaster is by far the worst. I love how my ticket prices increase by 50% for their overhead- and it's not like their system is that good to begin with. How about the artist making money and not the company that just sells the ticket to you?

Artists get shafted long before the tickets come into play. Their agents and record labels take some 97% of what the artist earns and pockets the cash.

My final four is:

Comcast vs. BP
&
Ticketmaster vs. BofA

I think Comcast has what it takes to go ALL-THE-WAY

BP won

Lets sing BP anthem then. All together

Who Lives in a Pineapple under the sea. No One Thanks to BP

That simply isn't true.

After the recent controversy of Sony and Apple the past week, I nominate them to be in the finals next year.
