AMD Radeon HD 6990 Video Card Follow-Up Review @ [H]

Ahh good, I am glad they stopped that practice. It was shady, just as the green camp has been shady in the past.

Sorry the low AA was really in regards to most of the other GPU reviews, and for this specific review I guess the criticism is; why only show at 2560x1600 when such a low percentage of gamers use this resolution?

Surely 1080p with a much higher level of AA is more representative of what the majority of gamers/readers will be gaming at?

By all means keep the niche resolutions in, but it would be much more useful to most people (almost 19% of all Steam users!) to show the most popular as the lead resolution, and the poignant comparison resolution?

Cheers again.

The reason they did that is because they were benchmarking a single GTX 580 vs a 6990. The highest resolution a GTX 580 supports is 2560x1600. Nvidia currently doesn't support surround gaming on a single gpu card. Their hands were tied with that. This was also explained in the article early on...

Anyway, I'm sure the GTX 580 with its 1.5gb of gddr 5 would have gotten thrashed by a 6990 if it could go to surround resolutions. Again welcome to the community, your lucky I'm breaking you in, LOL Kyle (editor in chief and God Here)would have told you to read the fucking article LOL, literally, he's crazy like that but a great guy and we wouldn't change him for anyone else in the world.

ATI and NVidia are in the game/business of selling hardware - I personally am grateful we still get these IMO, extremely interesting pieces of hardware - as long as we get our 6990/gtx590s, TDP merits will be argued and price/performance will matter to the majority who can't engage in the 6monthly upgrade race. If I was in the market for A new card, this would be it....supafast megacard!!!!!! Good read again guys thnx..

Is this the new Nvidia Dual GTX 590 GPU Card we've been waiting for?, announcement Thursday!!

wow at some of the comments on that youtube video!

oh and NV is definitly putting the spin on that video, unless they suprised a lot of people (including Global Foundries and TSMC) and that really IS their next generation card then holy cow, but if not then meh I'm not excited unless they (for the first time) managed to get 2 gpu's on a single PCB.

How's the micro stuttering on these cards ? Still much more "agressive" than in SLi ?
