CrazyPC Going Out of Business Sale

Hopefully my panaflo's will come thru - some sweet deals on insanely loud delta 120x38's too. 252cfm here I come.

So is this going out of business sale becoing a fiasco or what??

Idk, it seems to be going well to me. Granted they are running out of items, but that is sort of to be expected.

I'm still impressed that they shipped both of my orders in one business day even though they were placed 24 hours apart from each other.

Not at all. The vultures are circling the carcass and complaining about the quality of meat on the bone.

Wow.. Some real cranky people over at crazypc.

All i tried to do was email then and ask if they can add something to my order since it was yet to be processed that i forgot...

...$6+ to ship that little heatsink...when they could easily toss it in the box with the other order that still isint packed up. hehe.

Clearly, you've never been to a brick and mortar store in the middle of a going-out-of-business-sale. I've been a vulture myself and those places are always chaotic with everything being done on a first-come-first-served basis. If you as a customer can't get your order straight the first time, then you're often out of luck because there is a line of people who have no problem buying any merchandise you leave behind. I've been to a sporting goods sale where people who weren't 100% ready to pay and leave were sent back outside to wait in the line of people waiting to get IN the store.

You think all they need to do is simply chuck something in a box, but that shop is probably getting more business in a day than they usually see in a month. In that situation, purchases are usually filled in the order received. Period. Trying to add to an order just makes a mess of things.

We've had an overwhelming response to our sale! In fact, it's been so busy that we've put new sales on hold until we can fill existing orders. Please be advised we see some hording going on and that's not fair to all of our customers as it locks up stock that could go to others. In any case, we will do our best to process and fill orders and reopen sales within the 24 hours.

CrazyPC has indeed gone crazy.
Let's say you are a vendor, and let's say you are going out of business, and let's say you put item X up for Y dollars and you have a quantity of Z in stock. Clearly you decided that all you want is Y dollars per item sold. Since you are going out of business, why care whether one person buys all of your stock? In fact, that's really preferable in that situation as it significantly simplifies shipping and effort on your end.

No wonder they are going out of business if they don't even understand that concept.

ive long learned to not expect much out of a going out of business sale

Severe financial problems don't mean you're forbidden from having any sort of social responsibility. Granted most large B&M stores are liquidated by companies with fewer scruples than Satan, but a mom and pop operation doesn't have enough assets to interest them forcing the owners to do it themselves.

It's different with CrazyPC, they get a large portion of their profits from ridiculous shipping rates. The more orders they can fulfill, the less money they lose.

Crazypc isn't getting the shipping discount that Newegg and Amazon get from UPS.

Nor does it cost $10 to ship a fan.

Base line shipping charge, if they don't have a good arrangement with UPS it could very well be close to $10 for a single fan. It was $13 for me to ship 8 fans, their shipping rates are right in line with most other boutique shops. You can't expect them to offer shipping rates like Newegg and Amazon do with their low volume.

Sorry but it does not cost $10 to ship a single fan, I can go to the ups store myself and ship it cheaper, they also use usps which would also be cheaper, they are making profit off the shipping. Let's say they do flat rate box $5 + insurance and dc/tracking that would be like $8 to ship it, I doubt they are paying retail rates either.

I'm pretty sure they only offered UPS, which doesn't really have cheap rates for a low volume shipper (that I know of). If they charge $10 for USPS, then that would be another thing.

This is the closest fan I could find in stock that is roughly the same size, the usps is acutally cheaper on this than on the panaflows when I went to order, they wanted $12 for one panaflow (usps).

thats just an estimate I believe

Shows the same price if I go to the check out page. Maybe the panaflows were messed up cause $7.45 for usps seems more normal than $12 which is what it said at checkout when I was going to order them.

So Ill assume I was super lucky then to get 25 fans + 3 heatsinks for 15 bucks via ups?

Did you get the point of putting in your credit card numbers and such? cause that is where I got my final total price for everything I ordered.

I went up to that point but in paypal.

I paid $16 shipping just for this stuff.

You dont happen to know the weight on that order do ya?

My ups order says 15 pounds, and at 15.97 shipping I cant complain :p

You obviously don't ship very often, if at all through UPS. I have daily UPS pickup at my shop and get a 15% discount on regular rates, and there are many areas that I cannot ship to in the country for under $13 through UPS regardless of weight/size. Most packages that weigh 1 to 2 lbs are costing me $8 to $12 to ship via UPS.

I don't ship ups everyday no, but I do ship ups quite often. Maybe the ups store by me has better rates but to ship from utah to new york a 1 to 2lb package is around $9 for me less for a lesser distance.

So you expect them to buy a box, tape, packing supplies, and pay someone to pack the box and handle the box all for $1?

So you would complain that their base shipping rate is $1 over your best case scenario?

Yes because I'm paying a retail rate for a farther distance and heavier package. So they are getting $1 more to ship one fan that is probably .5 lbs (not sure if you can select under a pound for ups though).

The ups store seems to do it cheaper and does the same thing.

3lbs. For my order that was $16 shipped, they refunded back the 140mm fans since they didn't have any.

Ill take the I got lucky with my order then stance :D

Ill take post pics this evening, off to be for me :)

Got my stuff, all well packed and the sleeving on the fans was done well...rather suprising. They did drop my CPU waterblock without letting me know until I got it. Checked my bank, sure enough, not charged for it. Sucks, that was a hellova price. Just ordered round 2 for some TIM and fans. Cleaning them out!

I might drive up there and see what I can get without the shipping. At the prices left on the small stuff, the shipping is slaughtering the deals.

Uh oh, one of my orders was not charged for the full amount..... looks like I'm going to be missing something. But what will it be. Hopefully not the stupid 100mm slim fan (which is why I placed an order in the first place).

Also, they shipped my package before they charged me... weird.

Haha it's probably the fan, the man reason I ordered was for the 140mm fans which got refunded also. :p

Hmm.... I can't figure out what it is. I know the price difference between what I ordered and what I was actually charged, but it doesn't match any of the prices of the items that I ordered, unless they also decreased shipping.

They do, I think they took off like a dollar for shipping when they refunded my fans.

Well, whatever. I don't care if it's the yate loons, but if it's the Scythe slim fan.... You will probably end up hearing about it in the news. Seriously, that stupid slim fan is the only reason that I placed an order. lol, it only made up around 3% of my total purchase. The rest was all impulse shopping.

You can call them to find out, it took my literally 30secs to find out. I called some guy answered in 2 seconds said "pcry" (seriously), I told him something got canceled, told him my name he told me what it was and that was it.

dammit i just got a email saying it been shipped 3/4 of the stuff i ordered was sold out and it went form a $110 order to 57 whit 22 in shipping:( i got 5 Panaflo FBA12G12M1BX and some Shin-Etsu and some dam case screws.... i didn't get my 8 Panaflo high speed fans or any the other shit i order yet shipping stayed the same wtf?

Well, everything I ordered showed up, pretty well packed also. hell , the 40 mm fan i ordered came wrapped in the same bag as my thermal adhesive vs rolling around the box. The 120mm fans came with bare leads and I had that  face then saw the 3 pin leads at the bottom of the box in zip bags also :D

Gonna place another order, ill get some lights or some other crap just to help em clean it all out ;)

should be getting my package tomorrow :D

and my reason for ordering was the MCR420 which I didnt get, must be a trend around here lol.

should be getting my package tomorrow :D

Same here. Plus my new full tower case from amazon should be here. Looks like I'm going to be doing some serious rebuilding. And I'm also thinking about lapping my heatsink while I've got it out.

Shouldn't this thread be heading to deal discussion around this point? It's mostly only people talking about their orders at this point...
