TV Accurately Portraying Computers & PC Gaming

Of course it's impossible to be at the top of one MMO let alone all of them.

One life is not enough. lol

Sheesh, it's pretty obvious that she didn't get those high scores legitimately. Probably hacked the other players' scores by targeting their IP addresses with a GUI created in Visual Basic.

Versus targeting their IPs with a GUI created in Java via Netbeans?

Damn, must have been amateur night at NCIS. ;)

import java.javax.swing.*;

class Foo implements JFrame{
... er, whoops!

Flashy decals on the case means 16 core... duh! The guy's such a noob...

and remember, a 10meg pipe means faster response times than a 5meg pipe when you are computer gaming! Oh wait... maybe she's playing ALL those games at the same time and thus would need all that phat bandwidth pipage for her "high score" ownage.

I was flipping channels the night that episode aired and stopped just bc of the description of the show and saw this only to lmao while rolling my eyes.

Blows me away how badly the writing is for these shows. I loved how they used a case painted up with flames etc to make it seem like all "PC Gamers" have computers that look like that.

I'm sure old people and those with no clue 90% or more of the general public believed the crap that the actors said. Hell the actors may even believe what they said to be accurate, hip and truthful. :rolleyes:

I've played my share of MMORPG's and don't recall any of them having a "score", let alone a "high score".

I think they couldnt be bothered to do some proper research. And she shouldve had a case with glass so he can see whats inside it.

I couldn't tell if they were paying chord, core, or port...

I know I use my super diplexer for a faster network response in my MMOs. I pwn newbz with my 20ms ping over satellite!

McGee should hit that hot gamer chick.

Rest of you want to and therefore slam the episode...

There are so many things wrong with that clip. First we had a guy who came in his pants looking at a computer, recognized someone's gamer tag and started talking about mmo's, which is all fine but they completely shatter the illusion because he's talking to a girl.

And there has been an computer accurate show before, purepnage.

The only part that I understood out of all that was the Skank Horde.

....what game has a skank horde in it? Inquiring minds must know!

That was the most accurate representation I have ever seen.

Worst episode ever!

sorry just having a laugh at the geekiness of pointing out technical errors of a tv show on the internet. i mean i do it all the time with my missus but she just rolls her eyes at me and says stuff like "all the characters have super powers and you're talking about the technical inaccuracy of a computer program? IT'S FICTION... NOT REAL!"

I guess she's a Multitasking mmo player.
To me 10 meg means 10 Megabyte - So she has an 80 Megabit connection.

Why am I even....

Thanks for the post Steve.

LOL, I didn't realize games were still about achieving the highest score.

16 cores?! Goddamn, and here I was so excited about Sandy Bridge...hollywood gets all the good stuff.

Short Intel, buy CBS stock apparently. Or whatever network that was on.
